  • In the Chihuahua state of Mexico, isolated by some of the most savage terrain in the Americas, the Tarahumara Indigenous people continue to practise the running techniques that allow them to run hundreds of miles without rest. The word they use to describe themselves is Raramuri, meaning “runners on foot” or “those who run fast” in their native language.
They traditionally ran barefoot over long distances as a ceremonial practice and competitively. These races can last anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days without a break. This common practice once used to chase down animals to hunt, has morphed into a modern day sport for thrill seeking ultra-marathon runners. People from across the globe travel to Tarahumara territory to participate in the Caballo Blanco 80 km race.

Magnificent but certainly challenging landscapes to run in, all of the runners are full of running joy! May peace, positivity, joy, contructive actions and compassion be the guiding lights throughout Mexico and violence in the ancient history books. Nothing is ever gained from the ways of the Cartels, only trauma. The good life is full of joy, balance, peace, harmony and lots of fun running with friends.

      Tarahumara***
Mexican is a nationally not a race. And not all Mexicans are indigenous. And not all indigenous Mexicans are Tarahumara.
The diets are similar but not the same at all. Mexican cuisine has a lot more consumption of animals, & dairy products.
Additionally a lot of the “tortillas” are not made from native seeds. But from gmo seeds.

Most Mexicans are Indigenous and have a high percentage of Indigenous DNA, even the ones with the slightest hint of Indigenous features, I'm not taking about skin color, but for some stupid reason they glom on the low percentage, 20% or 10% many times even less percentage than that of the rest of the DNA.
