    The "Thing" On The Treestand That You Did Not Know What It Was For, I Think It Is For Putting Your Treestand Haul Line Onto It, To Pull Your Treestand Up The Tree With It. But That's Just My Guess...

    I purchased this setup to replace my old setup I used to run a Big Game stand with three 30" hawk sticks. Hopefully I will like this setup better I'm just disappointed that the weight advertisement is inaccurate.

    Wish I’d known about the free shipping code lol! Mine will be here today from midway. I’m pretty excited to give this a try this year. I sold my old run n gun setup. Hawk helium xl + helium sticks. To get a saddle setup. Then I realized how much it’ll cost me for a saddle setup. Then found this setup for $210. So i couldn’t pass it up!!

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  Před 4 lety +1

      It definitely has its perks for a solid budget setup. I just wish it cam locked better and you could ditch the ratchet strap! Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Michigan Great Outdoors i ended up hacking off the 2 little wings for the adjustable platform. I didn’t like how it wouldn’t sit flat. So now that slider will go between one of the webbing on the platform. I’m not one to hike a really long ways to hunt. So I’m sure this setup will work awesome for me. I ended up getting some XOP straps off of amazon for $22 for the stand. Then I’m going to make a strap with a clip for the chest. Im hopes it’ll carry easier. I’ll shut up and stop bugging you. Looking forward to more videos. Hope you have a fun and safe year

    So close to 1k subs buddy! Great review video too, this one will definitely put you over your milestone! Looks like a really high quality stand for that price point. The idea of making it a stash stand is a really clever! Just make sure to hide it well lol

    I assembled mine last night. Coming from a pack n stack ladder stand, it’s a weight improvement for me without dropping $400-$500. After some stealth strips and amsteel upgrades I think it’ll do the trick. Would I prefer a LWCG? Sure, but the savings are preferred. Also, I was stumped by the mystery bracket on the back too but I think it might be for the cruder tree bracket. Could be wrong but a guess.

    Right on about the weight. I'm 6ft 180 and in good shape but I'm a heavy sweater and I def consider weight. It's not uncommon to walk two miles. 3 to 5 lbs matter at that distance

      @@MichiganGreatOutdoors I have hawk helium climbing sticks and was about to order this stand but I'm glad I did my research and came across your honest review. Just wish it didn't need that ratchet strap to solidify it in the tree plus it's supposed to be lighter. I can accept it if it was 10 pounds all together but it's close to 13 pounds when it's supposed to be 9. I think I'll pass up on that stand and go with the XOP vanish. No big deal thank you again.

    I’m not sure you’re talking about the same Tresstand. The hawk ultra lite xt, is listed at 7lbs. The hawk helium ultra lite is listed at 11 lbs. Are they different treestands?

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  Před 4 lety

      This is the new hawk ultralight stand was supposed to be 7lbs its not. There is also a helium pro thats supposed to be 12 but its probably not. Hawk lies in their product descriptions. The ultra-lightweight xt or whatever u call it weighs 12 with no seat no buckles, 12.5 with seat and cam buckle. 13 with ratchet strap and cam buckle.

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors

    Got mine comin. I never sit on a mobile set anyway so I’ll lose a couple pounds by removing the seat...not too concerned about the inaccuracies on the wait. Plan on using this for the set that I won’t be concerned about leaving over night in a hot spot if the situation calls. Great review and very informative, just could’ve gone without the F bombs at the end as the kiddos were in the room while I watched this buuut I won’t hold it against ya. LOL

    Great review. However, stated weight specs are always an exaggeration from these companies. My guess is that all removable parts are removed when they weigh it. Seat and straps are not included in weight? Chinese paint also has lead and other toxic metals in it so it can be heavier.

    If I had to describe this stand in one word: underwhelming. It's essentially a more janky Muddy Outfitter stand. The biggest negatives to the Hawk stand are the shady tree bracket and that slick coating, holy squeaky. yikes. I think the Muddy Outfitter beats this stand.
