    I'm an altar server (13years old), I can't serve at our parish since the "world event" happening, I realy missed the smell, the oh so fragrant smell of incense and the reverence of the priest/bishop and altar servers while swinging the thurible around the altar, I really hope I can serve again.

      @@But_kikr glad to hear. I was an alter server at the Catholic Church my family went to when I was in middle school but only for 1 years because I was at the age cutoff. When I moved out of my parents house last year I transferred to a different Catholic Church and become a Acolyte and served at Mass almost every Saturday evening for the Sunday vigil, however they are changing the time of the Saturday vigil Mass which doesn’t work with my work schedule so now I have to transfer back to my home perish and can’t serve anymore. @@But_kikr The reason why the have an age cutoff is because the parish has an age cutoff is because it is connected to an elementary/ middle school so they have the school kids do it. The m they were going to make a exception and show me to do it fire a 2nd test but they never put me on the schedule and when I tried to call the person that was in charge he never returned my calls.

    The reason why some of you did not witness this is probably because you have to attend a mass called “Dedication of the Altar” where they do this Rite. The Bishop anoints the altar with chrism oil

    Revelation 8:3-4
    [3]Another angel, who had a gold incense burner, came and stood at the altar. He was given a lot of incense to add to the prayers of all God's people and to offer it on the gold altar that stands before the throne.

    Honestly, without the rituals and practices of the ancient religions pejoratively called ‘paganism’ and ‘polytheism’, these Abrahamic religions wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. It is beyond obvious how heavily they borrowed from these ancient traditions…

      You people never fail to molest the sciptures for your own heretical goals. Incence to IDOLS is wrong. Incense for the true god is a pleasing thing to him... If you wanna talk about the old testament then look at how the israelites worshipped in the temple... Churches are the new temples.

    Why are there females in the sanctuary and by the altar?

    • @zachlafleur6651
      @zachlafleur6651  Před 2 lety +1

      This is because since the 1990s the Diocese Of Lansing, MI as well as a lot of other dioceses all around the World have allowed female altar servers. The same is true for lectors, cantors, and other musicians at Mass. Only clergy that is still required to be male are bishops, priests, and deacons, and we can thank Jesus for this, because it is based on the twelve apostles being all males. Sure there were female disciples such as St. Mary The Mother Of Christ, St. Mary Magdalene, Clopas's wife, and many others, but their role in ministry was considerably different than the male role.
