Live Power Lines Arc During Pole Fire | GLENDALE

Glendale Fire crews responded to reports of a dumpster on fire extending to a power pole just West of 59th Avenue and Glendale Avenue around 3:30 AM Sunday morning.

Upon arrival crews found an aggressive fire spreading up a power pole with live wires arching.
•
Crews cautiously approached the scene, devising a strategy to safely extinguish the hazardous electrical fire.
•
Crews deployed a single handline and began slowly knocking down the flames from a safe distance paying close attention to the location of the live wires.
•
APS is currently in route to the scene to de-energize the lines leading to the pole.
•
No word on how the fire started. No injuries reported.
