- I finally found the issue that was preventing the Quad from starting.
As you know, it was backfiring through the carby and not starting.
Here's an introduction to an important engine part - the Keyway.
Now that it's running, a TestRide is due...so I burn-round the backyard too.
Filmed with - Drift GhostHD.
Edited with - Cyberlink PowerDirector14.
Pc used - i5, 8G ram, GTX760.
On location - CrashTestDummyTV proving ground.

What was the last bearing you put on? Taking my stator cover off I seem to have broke it and can't find the part to order it!
Do you have a workshop manual? If not, I have one, I can take a pic and send you a copy??
(Daniel, by this arvo I will take a look, get back to you).
Cheers n RSOT >:)
I recognize some of this video !!!
Yeah, thought I might get attention to the ending (Dr Evil laugh), so Re-Edit>>>Re-Upload it is...lol
Mwahahaha, Mwahahaha, Mwahahahahahahahahaha...

Cleanings bayou I ever seen! I got one very reliable atv.
I just bought a 1999 kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 cranks good and idels good but when put in gear and give it gas it backfires and cuts off do you have any tips for me what it could be
Did you ever figure out anything about yours? Mines doing the same thing. It'll run decent until past half throttle then falls on its face
Mine falls on its face when you go past half throttle
Did you find out what was wrong with yours?
I've looked at wiring diagrams online. I'm curious whether a Clutch switch or similar (rule out the sidestand switch! lol), could be faulty. Cutting out ignition??.
Does it have one?

I HAVE A KAWASAKI KLF 300, do you know the times no screw you can take out to check the truck Ming,it’s by the pull cord, when I screwed mine out to have a look,is there supposed to be oil in the,coz when mine is spinnng around I can see oil on it,
I'm sorry, could be lost in translation, but what is 'Truck Ming'?
Sorry my son wrote the wrong thing,my klf just wont start,it was running a week ago,it’s only done 600 miles from new,it’s a 1999, it was stored for 15 years I bought it from my boss, put a new carb in and it ran lovely, but now it won’t start, got good spark, fuel and air is ok,compression is good,it’s just cranking over,,but will not fire,,
Does any one know why my 300 Kawasaki Lakota back fires and will not start I put new carb on it just wounding
@@davidharmon8363 Sounds like its lacking fuel?
Open the Float empty screw, see if any fuel comes out.
Are any of the hoses blocked/restricted.
Hope it helps, might be electrical, but if you never had an issue before, it shouldn't have just started for no reason.....?
Goodloucj David, Keep me informed, I hope you get it going.

I have a bayou klf300b 2x4 that won't stay running unless it is hooked to an outside power source. I've recently replaced the cdi, spark plugs, and ignition coil. It's starts and runs but won't idle and cuts off as soon as I remove the charger or jumper box. Any ideas what it could be?
Gday Patrick,
Sounds like it's not charging properly. Should be able to idle on what its charging with a trickle to keep the battery charged. Same as a car/truck/etc.
Get it running, check with a multimeter on the battery terminals. A healthy vehicle will say 13to14.5volts on idle (or close to idle as you can get).
I'm guessing its not charging properly, so it doesn't run on idle (upto this point, it might have run like it's Popping, as if running out of fuel??).
It will be either the Stator or the Regulator Rectifier.
Price the R-Rectifier first, as this is the weakest link in the charging chain.
I'm hoping I nailed it, but keep in touch if that isn't the fix.
Take Care n RSOT >:)
@@MrFalloffalot much appreciated on the info. I have ordered a rectifier and it will arrive within the week. I've been trying to find the proper resistance tolerance for the stator so I can test it accurately.
@@patrickveal5435 I do admit - I Googled This...
How many ohms should a stator have?
0.5 ohms
Insert each probe into a stator socket. You should read around 0.2 to 0.5 ohms. If you show an open circuit with the “Open” or infinity reading or have higher resistance, then the stator is bad and you must replace it. If these tests all produce positive results, then the stator itself is good.
Also, no more than 13.5v on the battery check (when running). Ooops >:P
I still think it'd be the R-Rect.
But it is Only a guess, as I'm not there... >:D
I'm also Guessing - You have lights/accessories bolted on?
That'd be a cause for stressing the charging system.
If you need to replace the stator, get a higher Amp output if you can. That'll allow for 'Extras' >:)
@@MrFalloffalot no extras. Just factory everything. This bike belongs to a customer and I've been chasing wires for over a week. That's how I came across your video. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask
the mic is too close to you mouth annoying breathing ,,, had to turn the sound off and just watch thanks though
Yeah. Old camera, done a Lonnng time ago.
