Gday Hosstyle. I probably used ct14 (www.chemtech.net.au/degreasers/). Ages ago I bought a 20ltr container of it. Been using it for years now. It dilutes well, the more neat it is, the harder it will clean. Hope that helps ya. Cheers n RSOT >:)

@@Combustable12 The triples are Std Yam. Vmax. The whole front end is off a Vmax. 40mm Forks instead of virago 38mm, a little cleaner look on the triples too. Fr and rear rims are Vmax as well. In my research putting it together, I found that Yamaha cross uses alot of parts on other models. I tried looking for a video explaining how I fit the front end, but I don't have one. I'll have to fix that one day... I hope all the info I gave ya helps. If not, ask away. Cheers n RSOT >:)

@MrFalloffalot did you have to make and/or swap out the stem for it or just get the whole front end from the vmax and put it all together?

@@Combustable12 Yes, I had to remove the stem. I ground down the weld underneath the lower triples, then grabbed a Mash hammer and pounded both the Vmax & virago pins/stems out in a vice (for about 30+minutes each), then pounded it back in the Vmax triple. (use a sacrificial bolt/flat punch, to save hurting the stem). Although it has never moved. Since then I had a metal shop drill and thread a 'Gudgeon pin'/bolt in for me. Now it'll Never move! I read on a forum somewhere that viragos were over braked, so I have removed one of my calipers. To open up the view of the rim. It stops ok, but will probably never lock up the front either. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing....lol

Yeah 'still' not running. I started to get it going at one stage, but I let it sit so long that 2 of the Choke plungers had seized. They're basically welded in. Thanks to modern fuel and the crap they add in nowadays. So that's the first issue when I pull it out again. I love the fairings too. I do like being the Odd one out in a Crowd. The zxr's have a switch on the clutch side, you could bypass it, but I just wrap a rag around the clutch (when In). Saves doing it by hand every time you wanna start it, for servicing etc. Did you try yours yet 'with' the clutch in? Did it fire up?

@MrFalloffalot I've not yet tried it. After losing my unit it's sat outside in my mums garden at the other side of town as I have 2 flights of stairs to get upto my garden and the battery is now flat on it. Once weather picks up I'll get to working on it again however if weather is against me for too long I might possibly sell it on unfortunately. I've still got 2 cars and campervan to sort so it is at the back of the list unfortunately 😕 however if I do manage I'll get back to you and let you know. Strangely mine looks similar to a zxr750 H1 as similar paint scheme and aftermarket twin headlights.

No, same rotor cap. Although I may have bought a new one at the time?? You just have to mod your internal cover plate (what I did with soldering iron), everything else is straight forward - spacers etc. You got the Petronix branded one yeah?

@adammitchell5507 I believe that all Nissan and Ford 4.2's were pretty much identical. Apart from upgrades over the years (fuel inj., Std electronic ign., etc.). The Motor/Block and components stayed the same. It should be ok, but I give that with a grain of salt, as I'm not standing next to you scratching my head too. It's a modded/re-directed rear pipe (No std collector box), then theirs a pair of EMGO slash cut mufflers. 2" from memory. Occasionally I take the baffles out for that extra Bad-Ass sound! Hope that helps ya. Cheers n RSOT >:)

You could patch it into the Parker/Headlight wire. Pretty sure that's what I did. Been so long. That will give you 'running lights' when you turn on lights/Ign. Your only dealing with a 5 or 10w white light, so it won't put too much load on any wire you choose. The black wire for the turn signals will earth the white light. Hope that helps you. Gday Trentice. Tried to find a video for you in my Xv playlist, but I don't have one >:( They were off a Yamaha Vmax. 40mm rather than std 38mm and Alloy rims (although I like the old school spoke look). The 'Pin'/Stem bolt was a straight swap. Ground down the weld, bashed it out with a mash hammer and socket. You'd be better off taking it to a bearing guy and use their hydraulic press. Once the Xv pin is in the Vmax triple, I drilled and tapped a grub screw to hold it. Converting a TRX850 to have an R6 front. These pins were different size and I had to get a new Stem bolt made ($350). Fortunately the Xv-Vmax is the same size. It would be. But being a Hardened steel, I wouldn't want to test out wether your 're-quenching' or risk warping it. Degreaser like ct14/18 would get rid of it. The pads will cope with heat better than the steel. Hope that helps you. Cheers n RSOT >:)

They may have a set, maybe just not listed. Contact and ask them. They're a Great bunch with a Wealth of knowledge. As far as being the same as Gsx250R, My bet is they would be different. Great idea, but I tried boiling water. Left it for an hour or more. Still had some oil left. I've found that the gas torch is the most effective. It bubbles the oil out from the middle, then burns into carbon. Which is where I think the boiling water failed. Thanks for your input though WulfDog. Cheers n RSOT >:)

Gday Scary. I haven't done an exhaust vid. The last owner had done that mod already. He eliminated the std muffler, by cutting and welding a Bent-Up section in, to meet up parallel with the front std header. As far as "could I make a video", How soon do you need it? G'day Matthew. I made the seat in the garage, out of scrap metal plate. Shaped then bogged/filled etc for trimming. @@MrFalloffalot FJ1200 but I have had to push it. Leaking fork oil got onto the rh pads but they're organic and all I've heard about this method was (when identified) on the sintered metallic type.
