Well, I love this tune but what used to bug me the most when they did it was the crowd. When the lyric "DOG STAR" would come up people would get all crazy thinking he was saying dark star. if you are a sailor or know anything about the sea, The DOG STAR is the bright star Sirius, in Canis Major. It has been used by sailors for so long as the star to navigate with using a sexton of just the human eye. it told them where they where. Well in any case this tune would always give me sailors rum bumps.
Everyone pretty much knows that now 😅 the last time Grateful Dead played it was35 yrs ago (1986 at the spectrum) …almost ten years before he died …good call tho
Bobby shreds this. playing rythmn to no lead and yet implying the whole chord. you can't help but hear the rest of the band in your head. that is why bobby is such a great musician. this man has chops.
@@bobbyweir9279 I've been on the road since 1982 following the grateful dead. I've been dead 4 life. Sorry about the typos in the original post kitty got my tongue,😉. But you are the center, the lost sailor. Still. I guess you were built to last.
This is such a great example of how this whole thing is on par with a religious experience on so many levels. This song has such a revival feel to it. You can see it when the crowd gets up & starts to feel the spirit. Bobby, thank you a million times over, from the bottom of my heart as well as the hearts & souls of countless others. We can't wait for 4th of July weekend.!!!
with all the words and cords to that song alone and to perform it like that and you think he would forget his password everyday ... come on man ... give bob a break ... that was awsum ... think bob would do just fine in an office job .... he'd be drifting and dreaming in the office too just like the rest of us ...

Very cool - I am blown away - love these tunes - Bobby, I love your style of rhythm. I learned chords from a book called 7488 guitar chords, which has helped me to understand what you are doing, not that I play like you but I try - you can't play dead tunes without knowing where you fit in.... this solo acoustic version ---- Whew!!!!!
That's an Alvarez designed by Bobby and Kazuo Yairi. It has a narrower neck than other guitars. Without seeing it, this one may have the graphite neck as well but it's hard to tell. I have two them and love them.
Hey D. thumbs up from Leilani. I will load a couple more if you don't mind. maybe we can all get together over the holidays. This is better each time I watch it!

Is there a metronome playing or is someone clapping a beat behind him the whole time? Was thinking it was him tapping his foot but you can see his legs aren't moving.
