I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this now, I have it on cd of course, but there’s just something about watching him play this and the obvious emotion it brings to him that has me crying by the end, every time without fail - words cannot describe how much I adore this.
I feel exactly the same. I'm deeply touched from the spiritual way he is playing,and showing his feelings in the expression of his face. I miss him, and other russian artists inconcertprogrammes on tv channels in europ. It is very sad for us and for these great artists.

Now let's try to be accurate here: My "lecture" (what an inept choice of words) to her had nothing to do with her joy of listening to Daniil. My puzzlement comes with the idea that she (or anyone, for that matter) could possibly be inspired by the squirm-inducing grinning that accompanies his entire performance. In this connection, I hope you realize, for heaven's sake, that I'm hardly the only viewer who shares this opinion. I mean, aside from the infamous Lang Lang's equally squirm-arousing grimacing and posturing, how many pianists have you witnessed who conducted themselves in such a fashion? This ill-conceived idea of linking facial expressions with innermost feelings seems to be shared by nearly everyone these days. So much for sophisticated audiences.

Daniil Trifonov spielt nun eben Mal so ,und nicht anders. Unsere Kommentare liest er nicht. Sie brauchen sich doch nicht so aufzuregen und ihm beizubringen versuchen was er nicht machen soll. Sie schaden sich nur selbst damit. Macht doch absolut keinen Sinn ! Einfach akzeptieren, oder sich einem anderen Pianisten zuwenden würde ich empfehlen
Ich würde Ihnen raten seine Interviews und Doku Rezitals, von denen es sehr viele gibt anzusehen , um den Menschen Trifonov besser kennenzulernen 😊.

That is perhaps the most beautiful thing I've seen and heard on a piano. I cannot think of another time where I was taken on such an emotional journey as Daniil took us all. His face betrays his every emotion, exquisitely so. His fingers dance and float almost as if he is as much along for the ride as we all are... What a masterpiece, and what a joy to behold.

Когда-то по каналу Культура в России увидела фильм об этом удивительном пианисте. Меня он так потряс, что я стала искать этот фильм в интернете. Дирижировал Плетнев. Мой кумир! Я его слушала в России!!!!! После концерта не смогла покинуть кресло в филармонии!!!! От потрясения!!!! Очнулась, когда зал опустел. И знаете, кое-где в зале тоже сидели люди. Немного, единицы. Значит, не одна я находилась в шоке!!!!! Но фильм я так и не нашла.

Find Zimerman’s, with the Polish Orchestra (back in 99 I think) which he also simultaneously conducts. A different level all together.

I've been saying it for over 5 years now. I've been fighting zealots of perfect technique and shamans of difficulty. Today I can smile at them hiding under the proverbial broom, refusing to listen to my "told ya so", and see their champions playing for half the audience Daniil Trifonov gathers wherever he plays.
