      Thanks. After this video I found out it's much easier to just remove the 3 screws that hold the mirror in place. Then it all just comes apart in 3 pieces.

    same, break one clip on my oem mirror, but I was prying from the outside. Good thing is, I'll never need my oem mirror cover again.

    6:01 I love how neatly your hose is coiled! LOL. But seriously, this video is great. Our 2018 hatch has paint flaking off the mirrors and trying to figure out if I should go with a overlay or replacement. A little worried about removing the mirrors, I’ve heard they often crack. But your technique looks encouraging and it makes me want to give it a try. Thank you.

    • @MoisesEmpire
      @MoisesEmpire  Před rokem +1

      Lol im to cheap to buy a hose reel..... Mirrors come out super easy the way I did it. Just be careful not to drop it when you pop it off. The mirror cap on the other hand is a bit tricky to remove and will take some patience to remove.

    Great video Moises! My wife’s 2019 Civic’s drivers side mirror had the paint flake off. I figured I was going to have to replace the whole damn thing, then saw that they’re “covers”. That’s way cheaper and easier. Especially with your really well done video!

    • @MoisesEmpire
      @MoisesEmpire  Před rokem

      Yes it's not that difficult to do. Just take your time so nothing breaks by accident.

    • @MoisesEmpire
      @MoisesEmpire  Před 2 lety

      Lol I have no idea but they probably come with the mirror and can't be purchased on their own. So try looking up the mirror/glass. Or look at your white part and see if it has a part number on it.

    Nice...you should have also upgraded the mirrors to the blue lens. They prevent glare and provide an wider view of vision.

      @@MoisesEmpire you could buy Suma mirrors or get them from ebay for less than $100 (China). I'm sure Suma mirrors are the same quality as the ones from China because they have the same blue mirror coating.

    My Type R came from the dealer with OEM Honda carbon fiber mirror caps installed directly over the colored mirror caps the car came with from the factory. The Honda install directions tell you to remove the colored caps and install black covers before installing the carbon fiber caps. No idea why they (or after market vendors) make it so complicated. All i had to do to remove the CF caps was use some dental floss and plastic trim removal tools.

    • @MoisesEmpire
      @MoisesEmpire  Před 2 lety

      Honda says that because their caps are stick on ones and if you dont have black caps then you will see the color of the cap on the edges of the carbon fiber stick on one. That's y I bought these replacement caps instead of the stick on caps.

      @@MoisesEmpire The only way i could see a tiny sliver of blue beneath the carbon fiber caps was by using a flashlight from about 6" away. No one else would have ever noticed. With these crazy prices i'm selling my car and returning it to factory condition. Removed the Honda CF spoiler and interior trim. Really wanted to remove the CF mirror caps also but was afraid i would end up breaking tabs, caps or the mirror glass. Then i tried the floss and trim tools and got them off. Another $200 or $300 in my pocket. Anyway, thumbs up and thanks for the video.

    Might as well toss those sonic grey painted skull caps. They would have started peeling anyway.
    Also, slide the old caps straight back, not lift up.

  • @simplygood6335

    I had a problem that I needed to replace bottom plastic. And I stuck on the step with the third clip. It was impossible for me to properly push it, the top cap was staying like it glued. So I tried a different thing: I wanted to unscrew screws from here, like in this video: czcams.com/video/i0PRSHxi4WI/video.html
    And a hint here for those who wants to get rid of the bottom cap that covers that 3 screws: push mirror forward and find a little hole where you will notice a little black tap, push it and you should feel like the half of the cap is opened. Now pull the mirror to you and find another hole with the similar tap, do the same thing and this cover will open
    Spoiled. Get rid from the top cap will still be problematic. I spend ~3 hours to remove the third clip and it was a random that I managed doing this. This another tap that the author broke: use hair dryer to heat this place so the plastic will be softer and try pushing this clip so that go inside plastic tunnel
    I spent 6+ hours to do all the thing
