Friend has PRL stuff on his 10th gen. Honestly some of the coolest intake noises ive heard from a newer car.
Mishimoto intake. I got it through their sponsorship program when it first came out. Great value, great sound for a great price.
Would've been cool to maybe see the power gain differences from all types of intakes. Either way, great an amazing informative video for sure!
Map intake and their tune. Absolutely perfect. Just bought their downpipe and they are building it. What more could you ask for.
Just ordered the PRL race MAF from you guys! Excited to install it as soon as it gets here!
ahhh the red SI rocking the UnityPerformance side markers!!! looks so sick!!!!
Id love to see IATs of all of them vs stock air box and dyno numbers. I bet a couple of them really heat soak
That metal intake is probably worse than stock. It will heat soak faster than plastic. Most of these are just a waste of money.
@@Max_ellis74 Honestly the stock intake probably flows well into 300 hp. I would have to see a flow analysis, but stock is best unless you want more sound.
They all pull air from the same location just above the rad same as factory so I don't see any advantages as far as colder air.
A bigger cone filter might allow more air VOLUME, but I don't think volume is a problem with the factory style filter.
Drop in a K&N filter in the factory box. But that's if your going bigger turbo only imo
I have an AF dynamics and it sounds amazing, like darth vader lol. Also makes your car sound like it has an aftermarket bov. Only thing that sucks is that it doesn't come with a heat shield. But the piping is powder coated red.
Thanks for your video! I am wondering about installing it on an European 2018 Civic 10 hatchback, 1.0 T 129hp, chosen for consumption as a daily but I always dreamed about to install one of this famous intakes! 🙏
I have the K&N cool air intake and I absolutely love it!!! Such a great product and looks AND sounds really cool! Also makes a difference with the power gain! This cool air intake is definitely worth it!
Do you have standard civic 1.5 turbo or si? How about power and torque do you feel difference? Thank you for answer.
@@krzysztofjargio2725 i have a a k&n in my 2.0 and it is very loud in sound and as far as power gain it is just a lot more responsive and is noticeably quicker from a stop
PRL cobra race maf, I love it!
27Won makes an amazing intake, sounds and looks awesome. definitely my favorite intake and I was surprised it wasn't on the list
It's def a great choice! We polled our audience for these and that one didn't come up much.
@@MWCRUSADER0508 Having switched from the MAP intake to the 27won, I can confirm that is the downside of 27won. The sound is a lot more comparable to stock.
I'm loving my MAperformance intake it sounds soooooo good and the quality is top notch
@@55lamarr ah, yeah I tuned it eventually since I’m full bolt on and big turbo rn, but it sounded fantastic even before the tune
I got the mishimoto cold air intake for my Honda Civic Hatchback Sport manual 2018, a few months ago. I was really nervous about which cold air intake to buy, I could immediately feel the rpm’s shoot up in every gear and I got slightly better fuel economy. There was more assembly then I thought which was a bummer but 30-45 min install and plenty of CZcams videos I got it, worth it!!!! Some cold air intakes don’t ship to Cali
how much did you pay for yours? i have a 2020 civic sedan sport manual. i only found a few intakes so far but i just started looking
Also just started looking into this and kept having questions about them with my manual. Maybe haven't found the right place to look but that's my main concern with everything saying SI most the time
Im surprised the 27won ain’t up there! I love mine! Sounds great and no need to worry about hydro locking
Wish yoi made an intake for a 2.0L n/a.
I really liked how big air filter you put on your own intake.
Great video....i currently have the PRL Stage 1, which is just a "HP" panel filter and silicone inlet pipe. I did an install vid on it. Im looking to upgrade, and the MAPerformance intake looks like th route im going to to. I'm down in Miami, so the PRL Cobra is out of the question for me.
Wish you guys did a Race MAF version of your intake.
Heck yeah! We'd love to have you rocking MAP for sure. Passed that idea along - thanks!
Could you guys make a install video on your intake? I'm new to this so yea😅
Hey map
Quick question I have a civic Si 1.5 t
Just have the prl short Ram intake
I live in Canada and hottest it gets here in summer is 30 degrees c
Do you think it’s safe to run this intake I don’t think I really ever experienced best soak
And I don’t do lots of pulls continuously
Should I get the conversation kit to cold air intake or I’ll be fine ?
I know the MAF tubing is different between Si and non-Si, however is there any potential for the MAPerformance Si intake to be made as a non-Si option? While the choice of using metal isn't my favorite due to potential for heatsoaking faster, wrap the tubing up or spray with something to help with heating, and having a heatshield for the filter- I would totally buy one for my 2018 Hatchback.
According to some data from PRL, one can expect upwards of 10hp and 10tq throughout the band and 5hp 2tq peak to peak using their Race MAF intake when compared to their Street MAF, and the Street MAF has anywhere between 3-5hp and 4-7tq over stock airbox and filter (with tuning taken into account). While an intake should not be used primarily as a power mod, I won't spend $3-500 on an intake that only hurts my power gains, even if the noise is cool.
After installed short ram intake , do we need to tune or remap it as find out the car sometime got jam or locked when doin acceleration and i can heard some click sound.
i have the knn the turbo sound is amazing
Can I use this on my civic sport?
Would it make sense to install one of these on a Civic EX-T?
Nice vid thank you
I have the Mishimoto and it really good ...
Can i know from performance side which one is the best between them ?
Would have liked too see Dyno numbers between them.
Great Video! Thank you!!!
@@maperformance I've been looking at a 10th Gen Civic Sport manual, as I can't find a SI anywhere lol very much appreciate your videos! Really in depth full of information! Keep up the great work!
K&n typhoon! Love mine!
so if i have a 2017 hatchback lx with a 1.5 turbo, will these intakes match up the same as they would in a si???
I’m dying to try that hks intake 🤤
I got a honda civic hatchback sport touring and i want more power... what i have to buy for more power?? Where you are located?
Can discuss more I need to know which matches my car just got mine recently
Are these compatible with a Civic 2018 LX-P Coupe?
Just bought and installed one from injen. Wishing I saw that one on here.
Is it not good? Thoughts.....
How much are these Si exhaust and intake videos valid for the FK7 Sport? I guess it's basically the same car but I'm not sure about the whole exhaust system.
Do any of these will fit the Civic Hatchback S.T 2017??
is a 1.5L okay with these intakes ? non turbo regular civic sports mode ?
I want to go with prl street cold air intake, my question is will rain water ever get into the wheel well and would that be enough to cause engine damage?
I mean, I wouldn't drive your car through a pond or anything, but if you're concerned about rain you could always get a rain shield for the peace of mind!
is the hks one for the fc3 si coupe as well?
would these mods work on a 2017 honda civic sport hatch?
Would this work on a 10th gen EX-L w/ the 1.5L?
will the MAPerformance intake work on my car its a 2019 civic non si 1.5L just wondering thank you
Mishimoto all day!
Would it fit on a 10th gen Civic 2.0L 4D sedan
Would these work on a 2018 Honda Hatchback touring?
Will these fit on all tenth gens or jus the tenth gen si models ?
Wondering if these will work for the 2.0 sport sedan. All professional videos are all on the SI, Turbo or R
Same here. Trying to mod the 2.0 as well and am having similar questions. Nobody seems to talk about the 2.0 and whether these parts are cross-compatible
Does anyone have the ktuned intake? I wanna know if it’s any good
I have the 1.5 t edition... what cold air is reccomendated?
Do they all required a tune ? Besides the street prl intake
Will the MAP intake work on the Ext trim or is that only for SI? What is the best bang for buck using stock tuning intake system?
so what do you recommend for a 2002 civic? i have no clue which to get
Prl Cai best sound nd gains.
Great video! I have a 2018 Honda Civic Sport (based in UK, we don't have the Si model) - will these intakes fit onto my car?
Does it make sense to get an air intake for the 10th gen civic touring?
The air intake Only for the SI Or can be the Honda Civic hatchback sport?
I see the Mustang EB in the backround, have you guys hit 700whp yet? Been waiting forever for that video lol
Unfortunately not, car was put back to mostly stock and sold last week. We still support the EBM community for sure but aren't blazing a trail for it anymore.
Question, does the Mishimoto heat shield do the job really? for example intake like 27 own has a some kind of down tubing to get air from the fender is it really that kind of difference? Is there any air from the bootm in an si?
How much hp gains the Maperformance intake?
Can these fit on the 2020 civic sport?
this intakes will work on a 10th gen sedan cvt 1.5 turbo?
Do you make intakes for 2019 honda civic lx?
PRL sports and MAP looks perfectly good for my 17 si coupe 😌
I recommend the PRL Cobra, the MAPerformance is stainless steel, it gets super hot and the filter is literally next to the engine
@@claudio_wrx Yes got my PRL street cai installed couple of months ago. Definitely worth it. I’m debating for hks, awe or magnaflow exhaust🤔 for my next project. Stay frosty and safe!
Can these go on a non si? I have a 2019 hatch 1.5t 6sp
i think if you're not getting the PRL or 27WON CAI...... you might as well just stick with Stock box with the PRL stage 1...
@@aslamw9770 its not big enought like prl/27won to flow a maximum of air
Are yall planning on making a dp/fp? Id like to go with one brand with all my major mods.
Can I use your guys intake and tune on hondata ?
if I got the ma performance intake would I have to worry about puddles and rain or does it not go down far enough
whats the best CA legal CAI for 2019 si sedan ?
Which of those are carb legal?
hey quick question will the MA performance fit any 1.5t civic 10th gen
Does these intake fit for Honda civic standard 1.6
I would like to purchase the cold air intake for my 19 Honda si. But what about for the day’s that rain ? Would you need to keep removing & installing it back on ?
Are we sure about using K&N oil filters? Especially on a cold air intake. I went AEM dry filter to be safe.
@@qusai606 You can definitely hear the turbo a bit more even after I sound proofed the shit out of my car when all the damn road noise inside finally got to me. It's not screaming loud, but it's noticeable enough to make a lot more people want to race you. I don't know what it is about guys in Dodges that make them want to run with every Civic they come across.
I have a 2017 Honda Civic touring 1.5L and I just installed a k&n cold air intake.. I currently have the engine light on with Emissions System Problem what does that mean ??
I want that prl cobra
mishimoto or prl cobra should be the best.. but i opted for mishimoto instead because it has the heat shield..
I also don’t like how the cone ends up behind your fog light after the install for PRL.
Did you notice any gains? I’m trying to figure out what intake to get my mom for Christmas. She loves her si but is ready to start doing some mods. I also trying to find and exhaust that gives some gains without too much noise as this is for an engineer in her 50s that doesn’t want to roll into work being rowdy.
Anyone have any success with the KTuned Intake?
MISHIMOTO!!!
6:12 I knew I wasn't the only one who grabbed the steering wheel like a fuckin alien.
I have the k and n intake I bought for 300 and something I installed it but I loose power on the revs and it even turns off my car plus I got codes. Please help
Hey quick question would these intakes work for a Honda Civic hatchback 1.5lt engine that isn’t a si
Is there a difference in 9th gen civics?
Can these work on 2021 ex model?
Hi I have a 17 hatchback ex I did a muffler delete what air intake should I add for some extra kick
Send us an email at sales@maperformance.com and one of our Honda experts will guide you in the right direction!
27won is the best and coldest with snorkel!
Will any of these air intakes fit the 1.5T Civic hatchbacks? Since it’s the same engine??
Damn... my Injen Evolution didn't make the list. Not really surprised though 😕
I have a 2019 Civic Touring Sedan, will these still fit ? Or does it need to be an SI?
Does the Mishimoto needs tuning?
Does your maperformance intake fit the non si models with the cvt?
Well... that really sucks. It would of been great if they would support non-si civics too.
What about 2020 hatchback sport
Of all these intakes, which ones are CARB compliant?
As long as they have all the available places to him up emission hoses and sensors, it should be fine in most cases. Being CARB compliant only gets you a CARB sticker and makes the intake cost more. Most smog stations these days don't give two shits about a CARB sticker as long as everything in hooked up correctly.
i have your guys with the black wrinkle finish love it so far but i bought it and i belive i still had to pay 80 for the tune you said came with it idk if thats new i got it back around feb/march
When you buy our intake, you would request the tune at no cost. Feel free to reach out to us and we will do what we can to make it right.
@@maperformance thank you guys are great cant wait to finish the house so i can get some more parts from y'all
Do you already have an intake on your 10th Gen?? Let us know which one and what you think down below!!
stock! 😁 oh wait..
Can your MAP intake be shipped to California??
Does it come with the carb sticker for california?
Cobra PRL with race maf
