- OBSCURIST TOURIST 066 - Leonard Norman Cohen was born in Westmount, Quebec on September 21st, 1934. He was a Lithuanian-Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, and novelist - an icon who was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Though Cohen pursued a career as a poet and novelist during the 1950s and early-60s, he didn't actually begin a music career until 1967 at the ripe age of 33. If you don't know Cohen, there's no doubt you've heard his most famous song, "Hallelujah" covered by myriad artists including KD Lang and Jeff Buckley.
Come with me as I take a stroll around Montreal to visit some sights associated with Leonard Cohen.

It's so beautiful to born, rise, live, and be buried locally in Mont-Royal Montreal QC Canada.
May the righteous nations inherit the earth. I know none as righteous as yours
Forever a Cohen fan at 17 in '67 (Ontario 🇨🇦). Saw Leonard in concert each time he played in Toronto - always incredible! Visited the places in your video many times. Appreciate your video - thank you.

Hi Christian! Looking forward to your visit to Bisbee. It was nice meeting you there. (I subscribed!)
Hiiiii Jeanne! So happy you found me. I hope you had a lovely stay in Tombstone, despite the fact that the rain moved in that day. It was so nice meeting you and your friend. Hope we cross paths again! 🤗
Nice video! Very interesting! Not too sure about the Nordiques hat in Montreal though.
His last Montreal home, which you showed, is not downtown, it's on the Plateau Mont-Royal. The second mural, on Crescent St., is downtown, though.
Thanks Mathias!
Always look forward to these videos. Great job Christian!
Thanks man! Glad to see someone’s watching 😏
@@ObscuristTourist hang in there man, you will get there. You have a great channel!
Tchaikovsky died on November 6 (1893) - strange coincidence.
I can't believe you paraded that amateurish, rinky-tink slop throughout your presentation. It served no purpose. Cohen deserved better.
What on earth are you talking about?
