  • Access Virus Ti2 Demo Part 2 I cover the Filter section, Amplifier section as well as what I like and don't like about this keyboard. (I dislike very little!) Plus I show a secret trick to get even more analog sounding filters with the edit matrix!
    Comment below and tell me if you agree with me, or if you disagree, and why? I love to interact with people regarding synthesis of all kinds. If your on the fence about this instrument, is it worth the $3kUSD? It's a high price no doubt, however you are also getting all the synthesis power you really will ever need, because what you may not be able to do directly from the synthesizers controls, you absolutely can achieve in the plugin Synthesizer editor! Stay tuned for more videos, and please, comment below on what you would like to see in the future!
    Thanks for all your support, you all have helped me get this far, lets keep it going and building better and better!

    I bought a Virus C 2 weeks ago. Taken 20yrs to get round to it. It's so amazing I've just bought a Ti2. Coming in 2 days. Very excited. Great vid. Always nice to have a steady flow tutorial like this. Looks almost identical to the C apart from the screen, matrix and a few differences in layout. Excited!

      Did you get your Ti2? What’s your thoughts? Close to order one, even if it has some years on it’s neck. 😊

    I'm curious - that MATRIX filter edit screen is most likely not possible on the older Virus B or C, correct? Does that mean you can't fine tune / automate the filters on those models either? Thanks

    Great vids mate. How would you compare Elektron Analog and Virus? (I have the Keys version)

      Sorry for the late reply! I sold my elektron a4 and still have the virus. If that answers your question.....lol. I just dont get along with the way Elektron sets of their systems. But they are incredible instruments in their own right!

    Hey Buddy,
    Thanks for this tutorial. I am having a hard time doing the filter trick you showed. I am setting Filter Envelope to modulate filter env attack and decay but not getting the same effect you did. Its sounding nothing like the bass you played. Any tips on how to get that sound? Also your Virus sounds more aggressive than mine initially. Do you have initialized settings you use?

    • @G5ProductionsLLC
      @G5ProductionsLLC  Před 9 lety

      Hi Taylor, it sound like you are on the right track with the modulations. Filter env amount to filter env attack and filter env decay. Its better if you give it a negative amount like -32 on both modulations. For my Initial sounds, im just going to bank Z where there are just empty patches. Hope this helps. Its in the virus manual, the filter trick.

    So being this is 4 years old, do you find yourself using this or what did you think of it overall? I am considering one of these or an OB-6. These seem really like a huge variety of sounds able to be created. Do you have any other Synths you'd recommend over this?

    Great vid, thank you very much! Do you think the jump from ti1 to ti2 is worth the extra cash? I can get a ti1 rack for $500 less than a ti2! Thanks again :)

    • @G5ProductionsLLC
      @G5ProductionsLLC  Před 9 lety

      Honestly the ti2 has twice the DSP and I can't imagine losing half my dsp. Spend the extra if you can, otherwise you may get frustrated when you begin to loose voices.

    I'll ask YOU this because you have dug pretty deep into your virus. I've owned two different Ti2 units. One desktop and a dark star. Have you ever gotten the Virus buzz/squeal? The unit freaks out and emits a obnoxious tone - no knobs or keys work and it must be powered off and on to remedy. My desktop did it every few days and I just had it happen on my Dark Star for the first time this week. I think it happens when I stress the unit's DSP/voice structure. Little nervous. Thanks!

      Your normal! I get it too! Seems the worst when the virus is hooked up to USB. I have resorted to getting the mio midi to usb adapter and using the 5 pin midi ins and out on the virus and so far, so good. Every once in a while it still shows up. I never use the multi feature, only the single timber set up, also for this reason.

    Are you still using your Access Virus Ti2? Would you buy it again today over a software synth like Omnisphere 2.6, Serum, etc? ty.

    • @G5ProductionsLLC
      @G5ProductionsLLC  Před 3 lety +2

      I actually haven’t been playing the keys for a little bit. However I would still buy the virus, it’s just faster and more organic to use a physical synth with knobs, etc than a mouse or midi mapped buttons. The virus is still a powerful and super high quality instrument.

    I heard literally nothing in this video that would make me buy it. Where is the demo of the many diverse sounds that this synthesizer can produce? Talk is not sound.
