If you take it only chronological, EXO inspired a lot of groups who debuted after them , they are the bridge between the second and third kpop generation, changing totally the music style and the standard choreography
EXO has no bad song (at least for me). They can do all genres & perform really well. Stray Kids admire EXO that it's no surprise that you will somehow see EXO moves in them. EXO's live performances are really great. Like when they did Mama in 2014 SMtown Tokyo or Overdose/Transformer/Lightsaber in Exordium concert & El Dorado. Pls check them out. I'm an EXO-L but I had to say, MAMA was really weird for me 😂 I also found Wolf weird but then they remixed it and I'm like, okay you're a bop. But MAMA was just a whole new level, I couldn't like it. Other than that all of their songs were bops imo.

I've been an ExoL since the end of 2018 during TEMPO era up to now and I've never been disappointed by their music, not even once. I love all the different genre of music they make.

EXO is always the best in terms of different concepts
This mv really focuses on their concept and them having powers. All throughout you see them doing unusual stuff, rain cloud in the drink, jumping into water and disappearing, breaking the earth. The concept is super interesting and each mv grows our understanding of it more.

Fun fact about Kokobop it was such a bop that they literally had to perform it every single award show they attended in 2017 the whole year and the demo was originally for a girl group under the same company as them called RED VELVET who are also a 3rd generation of kpop like EXO.

Exo was the beginning of 3rd generation of kpop. They were the transition between the end of 2nd generation to the beginning of 3rd generation. So their older songs has a 2nd generation vibe to them with a twist of 3rd generation music style.

To understand the story in EXO's "Ko Ko Bop" MV, you have to be aware that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is connected to the story in their "Lucky One" MV. "Ko Ko Bop" may look trippy and crazy, but if you understand EXO's storyline you will see that everything was done for a specific reason.
There are 8 members in "Ko Ko Bop." This MV came out in 2017 and it was the first MV where Lay, their Chinese member, was unable to participate because of the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government at the time.
I can see how people might think that Ko Ko Bop is a drug they are all taking and that is why they are acting like they are high and kind of in a loopy drugged-like state. But to really understand what is happening in "Ko Ko Bop," you have to understand what is happening in their "Lucky One" MV. In "Lucky One" EXO has been captured by the Red Force who is doing experiments on EXO to try and figure out what makes them special, and to find a way to prevent them from finding and protecting the Tree of Life, and maybe even figure out how to clone them like we see has been done in EXO's "Obsession" MV, etc. The members all use their powers to escape from the government facility and this is where theories say that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" picks up right after they have escaped in "Lucky One". The blue Ko Ko Bop drink that Suho mixes and the members drink, and the pills or wafers you see them eating, was originally thought to be an elixir that is helping the members to detox from the drugs the Red Force gave them when they were being held against their will in the "Lucky One" MV.
According to SM Entertainment the story in "Ko Ko Bop" also shows the members soon after they have arrived on Earth and they are all experimenting with their powers.
That is why in "Ko Ko Bop" you see Kai with the power of teleportation using his power to levitate and you see him do the "treadmill" move next to the car. Suho with the power to control water jumps into the water and disappears, and later appears inside the washing machine, etc. Xiumin has the power of snow/ice/frost so he is using his power to create a cloud to fill the glass. Sehun uses his power to control wind to make objects float in the air. D.O. accidentally uses his power of strength/force and splits open the ground when he falls down. You see Chen with the power of thunder/lightning/electricity playing with his power. Baekhyun uses his power of light as he throws the ball in the air and creates that huge flash of light, and Chanyeol uses his power of fire to create the fireworks when he bounces the ball into the sky. The car also looks like it's driving by itself because they are using their powers to control the car, etc. Their unbridled use of their powers and the haphazard way they play with their environment around them can be explained by the fact that they were drugged in "Lucky One" and while they are still dealing with the drugs in their system, in "Ko Ko Bop" their inhibitions are lowered and they use their powers without caution.
Those tattoos you can see are fake, but like everything SM does, they aren't just random tattoos, they are specific images and messages as part of EXO's storyline.
So part of their story goes: The members were trapped in the maze by the Red Force in "Overdose" and while they were trapped they were captured and moved to the government facility in "Lucky One" and after escaping in "Lucky One" we see them detoxing in "Ko Ko Bop."
However, since then, we now have more information after their "Obsession" MV part of the story was released, where we have discovered that the Red Force has created X-EXO clones. So some theories now think that instead of "Ko Ko Bop" being about the EXO members, it might be showing us X-EXO. In "Obsession," the members in the bright colors with the crazy hair and makeup were the X-EXO clones and the members in the all black outfits were EXO. So now some theories think that maybe because "Ko Ko Bop" is so colorful, that it is showing us X-EXO right after they were brought to life, and this is their first time out in the world. So X-EXO are playing with their powers and trying to figure out how they work, and they are getting acclimated to their environment, etc.
But, as you can see, to make it even more difficult to follow the story, nothing is in chronological order. As fans we have to become detectives and analyze everything that EXO does in order to try and figure out where each piece fits within the larger storyline. Although, at this point it's only theories and educated guesses. With every new release from EXO it adds another piece to their story. Sometimes that new piece helps to confirm what we thought was happening and other times it turns everything on its head and we realize that what we thought was happening wasn't even close. We can only hope that someday SM will finally explain everything, so we will know whether what we have been thinking all along is correct.

This song can go either way for a lot of people, but everyone agrees the drop in this song is sick, no matter how they feel about the song. Man, I can't believe you got roasted for saying "Eggso". Some people just pronounce X's like that, it shouldn't be triggering. I only ever correct people in the comments, when they say the name as E-X-O (pronouncing each letter), or if they pronounce the fandom as "Ex-Oles" instead of EXO (break) Ells (letter L is pronounced as the letter). Loved the reaction as always. I like that you are sticking to the MV's. So many people start diving into the lives and don't finish watching all the MV's and I feel that you need to hear and see those before watching them live. Then diving into the albums would be cool, EXO's b-sides are masterpieces.
