This is really well done and recorded nicely at KCRW. I tried this band a while back and thought it was just OK. But if the record sounded like this, I would have been interested sooner!
I’ll be honest, I’m all for bands moving out of their comfort zone but the Wild Belle x Diplo attempt just did not work for me. It felt very disingenuous. I didn’t feel like WB had much creative control despite it being their name leading the project. I know Diplo has a talented ear for pop music, though I’m not a fan personally, but I’m not going to shit on his success. I just feel like he tried to fit a circle into a square and it fell flat.
I really missed this style of Wild Belle and I’m very happy to hear more of it. I especially missed Natalie’s vocals in this style. It fits well and it feels like _part_ of the band, not fighting against the instrumental.

It sounds great, no need to change something that works. I'd ask what kind of music do you find interesting and fresh but it's either gonna be trendy and therefore already tired, or old and even more tired, or some niche yodeling with +10 fans that's actually the definition of hipster and you'll end up as a hypocrite. So I guess I won't.
