  • Following the introduction of the CX-60, Mazda is adding a larger, longer three-row variant called the CX-80. Adding the CX-80 opens Mazda up to a whole new audience of prospective buyers who want the versatility and practicality that a seven-seat SUV can offer. It will compete against models such as the Toyota Highlander, Skoda Kodiaq and more premium models such as the Volvo XC90.

Recent Mazda prices in Ireland are vastly over inflated especially in comparison to other markets. Real shame as this is a lovely machine.

It really is. The camera doesn’t do it justice!

Be interesting to see if Mazda have smoothed out the PHEV drivetrain. There seemed to be a lot of commentary around that, in particular switching from electric to ICE. Otherwise seems like a fine vehicle if you like SUVs. Like Mazda a lot and have had 2 of them - shame you can't buy an actual car bigger than the 3 from them any more 😐

Good review. Mazda is going to great places. I think cx80 has better rear design than cx90 in US

I own a cx-60 petrol 3.3 mild hybrid top spec car, I can honestly say it's the worst car I've owned. Suspension is so harsh, you feel everything and over a bump the whole boot section jumps up in the air. My boot latch has rattled since day 1 and I'm still awaiting a replacement. The speed detection is broken and indicates incorrect speeds when it encounters a 90 or 130km sign. The driver recognition is intermittent, works probably 1 in 5 times. On occasions the windows have steamed up randomly. The gear box at low revs is lumpy as hell. The lane assist and collision detection is annoying, intrusive, dangerous and cannot be disabled without menu diving every time you restart the car. I really don't think this car is any competition to BMW, Audi or mercedes. Quality it is not, even the doors feel flimsy compared to a basic cx-5 I bought at the same time. I would advise you to leave this car a good year more for Mazda to possibly fix the issues on production models. I don't really see why I'm having to be a tester for bad design and poor technology.

Will this car come with a tow hitch? Will it be one that can be removed or tucked underneath the car when not in use. I hope it rides better than the cx60.

It looks nice. I look forward to you driving the diesel. Do you know, is it different to the cx90 in North America?

It is slightly different to the CX-90, mainly around the rear design.

Mazda went crazy with their prices. I'm a current Mazda owner, but i gotta say farewell and good luck with your new clientele.

So the petrol consumption is over 110mpg! these misleading figures put me off going hybrid. Do really like Mazda. I've had the 6 tourer and CX5 (diesels).

It is possible to get great fuel consumption figures from a PHEV, so long as you always plug it in and utilise the full potential of the battery.

And why didn't Mazda bring this to NA?

Hi Kevin. The US gets a slightly different lineup using the same underpinnings - the CX-70 and CX-90.
