Hello guys How are you doing?
In this video i show you how to restore a Antique Meat Grinder.
This Meat Grinder was send to me for custumer, so i restore it like it was and I didn't make any new part for it.
I don't know how many years this tool have, the only thing that i know is the brand, Indaia a Brazilian company.
To start restore this tool i make Electrolysis, i prefer this method cause it makes more easier to disassemble without broken any part.
After electrolysis is done i disassemble with a wrench and a file, the only tools i needed for this job.
With all parts apart from each other i put them in a bath made with Hot water an hydrochloric acid and leave for 3 hours, the result was way better than i expect.
Now i begin to remove all the casting marks on the surface and inside to make it smooth.
I also wire brushed all parts with a benchgrinder to clean some rest of rust on the surface.
Before start to paint i make a seasoning to protect inside from rust and prevent the food.
With the seasoning done after 2 coats i begin to paint with Primer Spray (i'm sorry i forgot to record this part), and after the Primer dried i sanded with a P400 and paint with a Yellow Spray.
I also painted the letters with a nail polish gold.
Time to make a new wood handle, the old one have seen better days hehe'. With my wood lathe and chisel i begin to mold the wood in shape, then i sand it with a p600 and make a hole with a bench drill.
And let it set in a olive oil.
The square nut needed to be restored, so i file, sand and polish that.
I brought a new washer to support the Meat grinder on tables and painted it with the Yellow spray.
And everything is ready to assemble.
With the assembly done, i test it to see how it works. I used Carolina reaper, pepper bell and onion.
Perfect restoration!

Great renovation job! Congrats...
Thanks a lot Luis! ❤️
Nice work. 💚
Thanks B! ❤

He is going to old cooking school, he needs to get some "OLD SCHOOL" equipment. Get the joke son "Old School" "the old equipment he has been restoring is from Old School" 🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁. Sorry I am on lockdown for two months and I am loosing it.😣😣😣😫😫😫😪😪😪🤣🤣🤣. But in reality he did a good job and so do you .
Have done a few didn't know about seasoning part good job.
Thanks Brent! ❤️
I got one of those in was my grandmother
Thanks for comment Sharron! ❤️
¡Muchas gracias!
Nicely done.
Thanks Bro! ❤️
Nice video brother 👍
Thanks! ♥
Man this brought memories - we had one at home just like that. Great job. I enjoyed it and subscribed!
Nice to know that! Thanks ♥️
@@WorkshopDC my family is from Europe and this was a staple in mom's kitchen!
Looks great and I like the fact you seasoned it. Suggestion if you're going to keep it and use it then make yourself a push stick so you don't crush a finger!!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thanks! This meat grinder is not mine.
brabo demais. trampo fino
Obrigado Arthur! ❤️
Tenho dois número 3 é 2 muito bom
Awesome restoration bro 👍👍👍good job 💣💥✌🏻🇷🇺
Thanks! ❤️
Nice work man.
Why haven't you fixed your vice?
Thanks Ismail! My table have a hole that holds the handle of my vise, and it's enough to me work. This vise is only for tiny jobs.
Upcoming shop work table restoration video. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁. Sorry I am on lockdown for two months and I am loosing it.😣😣😣😫😫😫😪😪😪🤣🤣🤣
hola que buen video
Gracias Romeo! ❤️

Grazie mille Paolo! ❤️
Very nice my friend! Congrats on the 1000 subs 🙂
Thanks Bro! And congrats for your 2k+ 😉❤️
@@WorkshopDC let’s take it to the moon! 🚀🌕
🚀👨🚀
I used one once when I was given 25lbs of coffee beans.... grinds coffee pretty good too....lol. besides ground baloney!
@@WorkshopDC danke
very good restoration!!👍😊❤️There's only one thing i dont like: meat😅
Thanks Jenni! ❤️
now i that hydrochloric acid can remove rust..if i use muriatc acid would it the same result?
Is the same acid, but careful, If you let It too much time in the bath the surface of the piece can be destroyed.
thanks for the info.
how many volts of battery did you use to electrolisis.
12w
Fixe as suas máquinas na bancada. O moedor ficou bom !
Obrigado Roberto!
quanto tempo no forno?
Não esqueçe de se increver!
@@WorkshopDC eu me inscrevi E eu entendo
Really good, but why yellow!?!Greetings from Germany
Thanks! I just thought that will be pretty.
@@WorkshopDC In my videos is red The color🤪It doesnt matter which color, only the fun and result is important
@@WorkshopDC obrigado meu amigo vou tentar fazer.
You didn't eat the pepper concoction. We all wanted to see that too. The refurbishing project was great. But you need to show you eating the ground up peppers and onions as well... Thumbs Up!
🤣🤣🤣 you probably want set me on fire, right Gary?! 🤣🤣🤣 Carolina Reaper are one of the most spicy Peppers on the world.
@@WorkshopDC I know that. But you showed them in your video, so I was wanting to see you eat them after the display... lol
😆😆 i really like pepper but this one is too much for me.
You spend all that time filing nuts and bolts , but you make new handles instead of refinishing the old .Shame on you
