Over the next few videos I'll be explaining how to use three popular Photoshop sharpening methods -- Unsharp Mask, Smart Sharpen, and High Pass Sharpening. In this video, I explain the Unsharp Mask.

Mr, Anthony Morganti, you know what, there are so many videos uploaded by many uploaders, but you are the only tutor who clearly defined and taught me actual difference between different parameters. Your "body guards" concept for Threshold has made me clearly understand the PS threshold concept. Thank you so much sir.
Very appreciating video and input from you. Keep uploading such concept and video(s) for us, Hats off to you...

Best explanation on the unsharp mask, especially the threshold slider. I had no idea what it did

Very helpful and clear explanation. If you choose to sharpen in PS should you avoid sharpening LR/ACR first and just set the "sharpen" slider to zero?

If I have used sharpening and texture in Lightroom would I need to sharpen more in Photoshop.

"If you want to apply it [sharpening] to a smaller area then push Threshold slider to the left" yes? got it so how many bodyguards 1- 3

The threshold seems to act as a mask as well, but with less control.
