Holy heck, this was such a quick and easy tutorial! I always was so confused on how to do this and ahhh! Awesome work!!
Aaand my mind is blown for the second time. The gradient method is too powerful.
Hehe, really? It is really useful indeed. What I like the most, that it is non-destructive and customizable. Very handy for the client work.

🙏 спасибо и Вам!
Which brush you used for bloom effect?
I was wondering what brush u used in the very beginning?
In the beginning I'm using simple round brush with pressure sensitivity enabled for opacity only (brush size doesnt change when i press harder on a pen). Tbh the default round brushes do 90% of work most of the time for me. Everything else is case based stuff like fog, textures, grunge etc.
Bom de mais...
Thanks!
Very nice tutorial.... which brush are you using for painting & bloom effect ?
Thanks a lot. I used fairly simple soft brush with either linear or exponential falloff. Similar to one in this image ( top left image) : geom.io/bakery/wiki/images/thumb/b/b3/Falloff_comp.png/300px-Falloff_comp.png
UOOOOOWWWWWW
it looks awesome but it's maybe something you can do only with a tablet and a pen with the differences of pressure on the brush, i'm trying to do that with my mouse but the result doesn't like that :(
Yes, it is always harder to do using mouse. I would suggest buying a graphical tablet if you are interested in drawing.
as a beginner this tutorial hard to follow, event to create black layer i failed. your photoshop layout/menu is different to my PS layout, but thnx for sharing
Thanks a lot. You will get used to that Im 100% sure 😊
what gray layer did u create?
Amazing did you use a costum brush for the rim lightning looking forward to your response.
Thanks! I did most of the painting using simple round brush. I only used custom brush to make the bloom effect.
Something similar to this - i.stack.imgur.com/pOaRp.png
It has bright center and non-linear gradient to the edge of the brush, making it more smooth.
IIM SICK AND TIRED THE BLACK THING IS NOT WORKING BROO
Alt + Backspace to fill
bro come back home, your country needs you
im confused / ive place all layers exacly how you have but when i go to paint it bleeds onto the background , any ideas why this is happening ?
Hi, it bleed onto background in my case too, I am just making manual gradient from the edge of the silhouette. You can use masks or selection to limit the area where you want to draw. If you have an object in a separate layer, press Ctrl and click on the layer thumbnail. This will select opaque pixels and now you can paint inside the silhouette. I hope this helps!
i m tired of trying but not understanding anything
Make the flow 3%
He forgot to mention this
And you will be able to control the colour and highlights
@@Mlomat-bi5jp In my project, when I click to select the color of the gradient map, the screen turns black, it doesn't get a little bright like the screen, can you tell me why?
the black layer didnt turn when i create gradient map, can u help me?
Could you describe the problem and your steps?
When I create the Gradient Map, it just erases the black layer completely
Gradient map remaps color to those, according to the gradient you've chosen. To make Black stay Black, left value of the Gradient Map should be Black. This way, it will change all the rest colors only.
For videogame characters (notably MUGEN) this tutorial would help create the lighting mask effect on a character's body when he uses an energy or magic projectile? I mean, in this Mortal Kombat game, where Sektor gets an orange lighting from the fire of his missiles and Sub-Zero has a bluish lighting when he shoots his ice-based attacks: czcams.com/video/0Evg6E5AO0o/video.html&ab_channel=Gus-G
Am i the only one how did not make it? nope wait i did it xD
link is not working
Which link are you referring to? The one with Gradient maps works on my end
@@PolyPaint yeah gradient link doesn't work on mine
@@WrestlePoint123 Idk honestly. I checked it with other ppl and it works fine.
@@PolyPaint Yep, works for me!
