    you can also remind the opposite colors by putting RGB en CMY next to eachother.
    R Red C cyan
    G Green M Magenta
    B Blue Y yellow

    divide is the opposite of multiply. Multiply adds a shade, divide reverses the multiply.
    If you multiply a yellow color, if you duplicate the yellow above and set it to divide, you'll see your shade of multiply disappears.
    The video shows that he painted a shade of blue, which when divide is used, reversed the shade and thus he got the original lighting without the shade of blue.

    Handy Tip: You don't need to actually need to open the eraser tool and change the settings. If you hold down the tilde key (~) with your paintbrush, it'll erase instead of add.

    Awesome technique with Divide blending mode Naouri...
    I always follow your tutorials on CZcams, you are the most talented teacher who never keeps the technique for yourself.
    Anyway, I watched this many times but still can't get the flexibility to use that. Can you help me how to figure it easy? Like how to use that technique in different scenarios so I (and all of us) can have more understanding to use this Divide technique?? I am really curious with this.. Thank you Naouri

    • @REDOUANENAOURI
      @REDOUANENAOURI Před 3 lety +1

      I think the key to the flexibility is to understand the lighting basics, like where's the light source and where to paint the light and the shadows, also make sure that you're on low flow with 0 - 5% smoothness on the brush setting, and even more important is to use it a lot to the point where you get used to it, you gotta have a good hand with mouse, master the mouse painting .

    Dope technique will definitely give it a go. Wanted to know if there is a matching vid on the channel or if one could be made coz I use the b&w and levels for brightness and hue and sat for saturation levels together with a saturation mask the curves for colour matching which I feel is almost like a like coz it's not just in this vid but others where I see people are using the colour balance to match it and it comes out more perfect than when I use my RGB channels on curves with the luminosity layer
