The Easiest Fruit Tree You'll Ever Grow!

  • WARNING: In some climates strawberry guava can be extremely invasive, namely tropical regions such as Hawaii and southern Florida. In my context I am growing in a container, on a paved patio, in a desert climate where this couldn't spread if it even tried to!
I am slowly becoming the guava man as my obsession with guavas reaches new heights. The strawberry guava is quickly becoming my favorite with its laissez faire attitude and delicious fruit.
A few reasons why it’s so great:
    1) It grows fast
    2) It tolerates neglect
    3) It’s absolutely delicious

I have regular guava trees on my farm along with a few I grew from their seeds just for fun. Strawberry guava is invasive in Hawaii and a huge problem as it takes out native flora. Hi, I just got 6 delicious guavas from my little tree. Do you have any tips on winter maintenance. I would hate to mess up what gives me my fav fruit.

I’d like to grow this! Does anyone have any recommendations of where to buy the plant and/or seeds?

What zone are you in? I’m planning on moving up to Michigan and starting some trees and plants will just grow up there in the cold.

Hello im from Jacksonville FL. Can you grow them from seeds?

Yes but once they are established they will also produce runners and only takes a handful of years to take over the landscape. Major problem introduced to Hawaii Island.

I'm also from FL and was about to jump on ordering some seeds, but it is an invasive species in FL. If you plant it near a wooded area, there's a possibility birds may spread the seeds and could take over and destroy native vegetation. Be cautious of where you plant it 👍
