    Thank you! I wasn't sure how to wire it because it had only 2 terminals on one side and 3 on the other side, your video was the only help I could find!

    Hi
    I am trying to build a BOB BECK zapper
    the zapper uses three 9 volts batteries in series.
    a 100k pot is used to control he output .
    Do you think I can use the mosfet module on your video ???
    Can I use a ZK-PP2K driver instead of the Arduino to control the output ???
    any tips ???

    hi, thanks a lot for the video, very clear for newbies like me and easy to follow!. What i don't get is the need for the diodes. You say that "if you use a DC motor you need to add a diode". Why is that? is it true if you use a DC motor and a DC power supply? Also, in the rest of the video, i don't see you add the diode in your schematics.... Can you clarify a bit further? thanks!!

      @@22chrs @Jean Gustang Baguette hm, i thought I had answered this morning...
      The reason is that a DC motor is an inductive load. You can find a web with this and more information about this module if you Google it. I tried to post it a couple of times but my post gets deleted

    • @moeburn
      @moeburn Před měsícem

      @@22chrs google "flyback protection diode". When a DC motor turns off, it keeps spinning for a little bit, and now instead of taking voltage, it generates voltage. You don't want it to generate that voltage into your relay/arduino, so you need a diode to protect it.

    Hey, can we use this on a 775 motor? I am building a PCB mill, and I can use it to control the speed of the spindle (775 motor) through the grbl shield.
    suggestions are welcome from anyone!

    will these work with common ground? like switching on/off lights in a car? thanx

    • @m3chanist
      @m3chanist Před 4 měsíci +1

      it's a low side switch, which is to say it goes into the ground or negative wire of whatever you want to control. Like this "battery + -> bulb->mosfet-> -battery " . So it sits in the negative return from the bulb, not the positive from the battery to the bulb (thats a high side switch, you can get them as well) it has its own + wire connected to the battery as well to power it. If you put it into the common ground, interrupting it (between the common ground and the battery negative) then yes it will work, but everything will need to run through it that is also on that common ground, eg starter motor, unless you give that it's own non-common ground. I.E. the battery negative must only be connected to it, if there is another path to the battery negative from that common ground the electricity will just go that way and the mosfet will do nothing. You'd be better off taking whatever you wanted to control off the common ground, running their ground returns to the mosfet instead and then the mosfets neg would connect to the common ground.

      @utube521 Před 4 měsíci

      @@m3chanist thank you. I already got it. I should have first looked onto the bottom side to realise that it has common + , not common ground. :) So it is not good for the car. thank you. But maybe you know similar mosfet board that has common ground that can be used in a car?

    Note:
    Connecting 3x 1A diode is not advisable
    Use 3 A diode or move on to higher amps.
    Don't connect diodes in series or parallel.

    • @robojax
      @robojax  Před rokem

      this is command industry practice to connect diodes in parallel. There is no problem with that. and the same is true for series.
