- A quick review of the new Pedersoli Model 1854 Austrian Lorenz rifle musket. This is a quick unboxing and first impressions. I hope to have later videos on the history of this rifle musket and how it performs at the range.

Thanks for the demo l want a Lorenz for my next reenacting rifle and all the info. Is a plus
Excellent comparison / review!
I'm always left scratching my head at the easy things they didnt do - like the beech stock, sling swivels and putting those goofy Italian markings in a less obvious area.
Thank you for posting! I enjoy your videos
Very nice job of comparing the two!
THEY NEED TO MAKE A MARTINI HENRY GOD DAMN IT
Update: they do now, it was revealed 2019 shotshot.
ben Thomas, who makes it? Pedersoli?

ben Thomas, thank you, Ben!
Fantastic video! I very much appreciate your attention to detail. Subscribed.
Thanks, Kris
👍 excellent, thank you!
I am an old man with a white beard, longer than your beard and I am Austrian, just like the original Lorenz rifle with the special Lorenz compression projectile!
Thanks for watching. My beard is getting whiter by the day.
great comparison, thank you.
I'm looking forward to a shooting vid on this, great vid, following.
Greetings. Were there any versions of the Lorenez where the barrel was held in place with brass bindings instead of steel?
None of the Model 1854 Lorenzs had brass furniture. There may have been some specialty rifles made by the Austrian military with brass, but the 1854 Lorenzs all had iron furniture.
The price is so high on these repros, a good original Lorenz in fine shooting shape can be had. The different wood and ugly modern markings are just not good on this repro. The fact that they used a patent breech is a deal killer to me, I hate the reduced sized anti chamber and all the problems that come with them. The sling swivels are farby, barrel too think and heavy, what a joke. Sorry but I think Pedersoli blew it quite honestly.
Thank You. Very good review. It would be Great to see a video on Bayonet fitting on reproduction rifles. I've looked at many repro Bayonets and all say some minor fitting may be required...How much and were, is my question.
the Lorenz has a 1/72 twist doesnt it? How well does it shoot the elongated bullets
With a correctly sized (.547) minnie or Wilkinson style bullet, the reproduction is very accurate. Many folks are using it in N-SSA competition.
I have a Pedersoli reproduction Austrian M1854 Lorenz rifle musket. It has a Delvigne breech chamber. Is this normal?
I don't think it is a Delving. But it is not like the original. For some reason they have used a modern patent breech with a 9mm chamber. The originals had simple breech plug. This is disappointing as it make cleaning much harder. You have to have a 9mm or 38 cal brush and jag to get down into the chamber.
@@erasgonehistoricalmolds2400 Delvigne breech chamber or not, it makes doing a complete bore cleaning difficult. I am happy with this gun...except for that. I am tempted to have the breech piece removed and have it bored out to match the rest of the barrel. Thank you for your response.
Tip: put the camera on a tripod and move more slowly.
very interesting comparation original vs repro! how it shoots?:-)
It shoots very well, although I have not documented it in video. With a single flange Wlikenson bullet sized to .547 I'm getting 2-3 inch groups at 50 yards. I suspect a real marksman could do even better.
