South African Air Arms ambassador Richard Leonard has travelled all the way to New Zealand to join lifelong Air Arms advocate Dave Simmons to help control the local rabbit population. The super keen duo head out to a parched-looking cow and sheep farm to tackle the pests. Stealthily stalking field edges and using long grass for cover, they successfully take out numerous rabbits with one fatal headshot - all impressively done free hand.
Although there are rabbits everywhere, the hunters still have to use their fieldcraft to get close enough for a shot. After checking the distance with rangefinding binoculars, Dave expertly takes out two big bucks at 70 and 125 yards.
In total, Richard and Dave manage to cull dozens of rabbits using the Air Arms S510 Ultimate Sporter Xtra in .22 cal using the Air Arms Diablo 16gr pellets. The plump-looking rabbits are in great condition and will make great eating!

Years of experience.that man knows how to shoot.that 125 yards shot was a stunner.really enjoy watching it.
I've had the privilege of shooting with Dave at his personal range and you are correct when you say this man knows how to shoot! Those 125yd shots were no accident. They are the result of hours of practice, shooting many different types of pellets and keeping meticulous records of their characteristics. His passion for air rifles is infectious and now I can't wait for our next trip to the Manawatu!

That’s fantastic shooting . Can you confirm the ft/lb of energy that rifle is producing please ? I have an S510 extra FAC that produces 32 ft/lb standard from the factory and would be interested to see if that is the same !

Very good shooting... whats the FPS of that air rifle? How much drop at 125 m?
Hi John - I'm currently getting 950fps Muzzle Velocity (32 FPE with 16grain AA pellets) and I'm zeroed at 60yds. I forget the drop in inches at 125yds - I use Mildots at x16 magnification on a Hawke Sidewinder and that's a drop of 4.5 mildots from zero). 👍
