Still trying to catch up on past videos. Yes, to have a stateroom surrounded by other staterooms is good. Already subscribed and hit the like button. Just because you are on a cruise ship doesn't mean it will be good. The same thing happened to my wife and I on a back to back cruise. The guy at the Purser's Desk told me they would transfer my credit card to the new stateroom. They didn't. My wife was handicapped so we needed to be near an elevator. My wife loved to have a balcony no matter what. Since I'm going alone now, may want to take an inside. Went on NCL Dawn also. It was so bad we haven't gone back to NCL. Prefer to use the stairs instead of the elevator. Get to walk more.

Unfortunate to hear that you had a bad experience with NCL. We tend to do the stairs as much as possible which is easier on smaller ships.

I found this episode exceptionally helpful and interesting. Planning a cruise and I have my heart set on booking a cabin close to the elevators for mobility reasons.

Cabin choice is so individual and also depends on how much you can spend. High and forward choice is a bit bumpy if you are not good sailors!

Can we discuss cruise etiquette on one of your podcasts? The slamming of doors is the worst for me. On cruises AND in hotels.

Hi Jill and Jerry, just catching up with you on the replay. In show business, they say never work with kids or pets, haha! Bruno certainly steals the show. :) Let's see, our last voyage was a Nov transatlantic on HAL. We had an obstructed view cabin which was great, but then noticed every morning we could hear the early morning group walk that was organized by HAL. Where they started was just below us, so we heard all the early morning exuberance. Lol. For some it's a great way to know what time it is, lol. Enjoyed the show despite the technical glitch. It was a cliffhanger!

Very interesting. Not sure how we will feel about this cabin choice. We generally are early risers however, sometimes on a cruise we like to sleep in.

    Hi some great tips.
We basically only cruise on 2200 or less vessels and normally for in excess of 20 days.
We always book a balcony so we can enjoy fresh air and peace and quiet in evening listening to the waves and seeing the moon.
Balcony cabin also provides constant access to the horizon which we think provides a solution to mal de mare. Have never been sea sick.
Also always near elevators and stairs due to claustrophobic issues of long hallways that have no natural light.
Also when cruising identify the side of ship to be on. Say from Barcelona to Istanbul we would book port side as able to see land most of the time and not just the sea. Doing it vice versa then starboard. Our cruise this week we are on Starboard side whilst 33 day LAX to Tokyo in 3 months is also starboard.
Where book also provides close access to a lounge for the qualified people which we are.
Have never booked suite as we are not interested in butler service, canapés etc. our room service guy delivers canapés etc. when we ask for them.
    Cheers and thanks.

I had the promenade ocean view. I didn’t hear the people walking but sometimes the crew putting out the chairs

You mentioned wanting to go on a Princess Royal class ship. Enchanted and Sky are Royal class ships. Perhaps I misunderstood.

    • @CruisingCanucks
      @CruisingCanucks  Před 4 měsíci +1

Sorry we meant the original Royal class ships with the different configuration of the Sanctuary pool area.
