Used this on my cat which had major flea issues. Used once and it was gone within days! But next year after I got a new cat they both ended up getting it so the other two remaining treatments came handy today!
Hi Tezza - can be a problem with some cats. Have you tried applying it while he's eating? Works well on cats that are food-oriented. Kind regards Dave MacPhail
Yup tried it while he was eating. He was quite hesitant to go back to his bowl for a few days afterwards. I guess we just have to hold him down, and give a lot of pats and treats afterwards. I don't know any other way to do it. He wont take tablets at all, that's why I thought this would be great for him. He's such a problem child LOL
Nice video, my old cat Burmese cat could lick that off anywhere. Near top of head, base of head neck etc. They just spread it down with there paws or legs and lick the stuff off. It's very annoying lol
@@Unknownxxx2345 it works, previously my cat loss his appetite and he spends hours licking himself until his belly starts showing balding patches. we are on our third tube this month. his appetite improves and his belly furs starts to grow back
Where do you get such a calm cat who sits down for flea treatment??? I usually start by warming up for a good 10mins then I do a 20min jog. Then weight training for 30mins. Then I try to get my cat by luring her with treats - but when she sprints - guess who was prepared to sprint after her?!! Me. I was ready. Then when I catch up to her I hold her in a bundle grip and pray to god that I do not get shredded to bits. Then finally I apply the flea treatment. Then she is mad at me for the whole day 😞
We applied this on our cat today for the first time and applied it on the skin by dividing his fur. we applied it on the neck, but unfortunately he then moved and shaked his head and the medicine spread all over his neck and he began to lick it. we cleaned his fur a little bit with water, leaving just the spot where we initially put the medicine on. How dangerous is it when he licks the medicine? I mean we tried to clean it out as good as possible from his fur but he is so flexible, he arrives everywhere with his tongue and I am sure that the medicine won‘t go away completely with water, so he was able to lick some of it….
Hi! It's been 2 months. How's your cat doing? I'm asking because my cat just had this yesterday and the vet told us to check on her always and make sure she doesn't lick it
OK I have been applying it wrong. Still worked great but I was spreading it along the spot as I squeezed it rather than in one spot. TY for the educational vid : ]
do i need to bathe my cat before doing this or nah? he's an outdoor/indoor cat, i haven't given him a bath for months and he's been outside a lot but i want him to get relief from all the itching :
You don't need to bathe your pet before. However, it is important you don't bathe them for a few days after as it will potentially wash it off your cat before it has had time to fully absorb the medication.
Hi Jordan, That can be normal. It all depends on where on the fur you have applied. Maybe next time try to part the hair so it is applied on the skin as much as possible! I hope this helps!
apply it in the opposite direction of his fur. meaning toward the direction of the top of his head. because you want it ON the skin, not just on the fur.
I asked my vet for this, and they said minimum 3 days (72hrs after the bath). This Will allow cat's skin oil barrier to be restored, allowing the medicine to be fully working (and translocate), and the penetrating medicine not get into cat's body too much/fast. that's what she said.
Hi Margaret. Probably best not to use Advocate at that point but you could use Advantage (also made by Bayer) on the mumma cat when kittens are about 2 weeks of age. This will control fleas quite effectively on both the mum and the kittens. Advocate, itself, is safe on kittens (directly) from 9 weeks of age.
Am from india, my vet has prescribed this but was too busy to explain how.. Wondering how does this work.. Does this get absorbed by the skin.. Or emits some fumes to kick away the parasites..
The exact same thing happened with me today. He gave this for my cat and asked me to read the leaflet given with the medicine. I have the exact same questions as yours but at least now I know how to apply this med.

Literally the first time I apply it to her properly. Thank you for this vid omg
You're so welcome!
Thank you for uploading this video. The application of this medicine came to me as a mystery.
Thanks for the video. It's a good thing my cat was so behaved when she got hers.
Hope it really works so she can stop itching. Thanks again.
What a shame my cat doesn't sit there like this one does. The moment he smells it, he fights like hell, to get away from us.

HA!!! Looks easy when you use the best-behaved cat in the world. My cat turns into a tornado of claws trying to do this!
Hi. I didnt know better and applied most of the stuff on the fur. So i rubbed it in with my hands. Is it dangerous? I washed my hands after too.
I want to know this too!
For those with hand problems, these are the hardest on the market to apply to a cat. Badly designed sorry to say.
thank you!!
Should I keep my cat away from the other cats after the treatment? If yes, for how long? Thank you!
Thanks for this❤

What is the name of the medicine? Can I buy from market? Thanks.
Advocate

What is the correct way to call those little bottles? Vial? Ampoule? Pipette? Ty
Is it okay to use Advocate together with worm treatment such as Profender? (At the same time, at the same spot)
No! This can result in an overdose - my vet advised 3 weeks in between
Every tome i put it on my cat the liquid runs of on his fur and body why should i do to prevent this please ..i alrady put it on skin not fur
