I'm not sure I would call that Lab player a "floodgate" version. They have 3 floodgates (5 if you count dimension barrier, which all versions of lab play anyways). I would just say they are trap heavy period.

You dnt have to play the ladder. We have the anthology and link/synchro festival. Which are pretty good.
Hero is such a funny deck. We have access to such particular floodgate conditions that, depending on the meta, just shut down meta threats. And our turn 2 isn’t too shabby either

@@Bufudit watch jaden br, but he shouldve started with cross crusader because he requires 2 warriors while infernal devicer is a fiend. this resulted in him having to fuse wake up and denier for dpe, meaning he couldnt use wake up effect which when destroyed special summons a hero mon. also meant that he could only mask change to dpe whichh means dpe wouldnt come back next turn
Angel not really something you should go for in this meta
Hi I was the hero player, I coulda sequenced the turn 1 a lot better yeah, I couldn't end on plasma because I was trying to play safely around hand traps so I kept vyon in my hand to account for faris or increase being negated but that left me at an awkward spot later on cause I searched for liquid instead of denier. But it def should have at least been dpe + a dark for dark law. Also yeah dark angel is not good imo, snake eyes can easily out it which is the most played deck ATM.

Did not expect the pend dominance.
The power of snake eyes and fire decks is waaaaay to strong right now. Every cards got a GY effect or searches and everything is easily resummonale. The deck pluses so damn well and searching Kurokara is the icing on the cake.
That’s what I was saying as we need more generic banish effects like the counter trap debunk, karma cut, soul release, and called by the grave should go to three in master duel.
Yeah, it's nuts. But it also loses so hard against anything that blocks graveyard or does a macrocosmos. Although it's a rogue deck, I am having some success with virtual world only thanks to shenshen floodgate. Unless they draw imperm or the spell that push a monster to the spell zone, they can't play

Hopefully the hero community pick up the learning pace and optimize their extra deck (their extra deck is always ready for a nonexistent grind game)
What do you mean? Crusader/Wake ARE the followup and the deck is one of the most optimized/solved in the game because unfortunately there aren't that many viable options (D Force Plasma, Cosmo lock, Neos Fusion Stun etc are all more casual strategies)
@@babradYea with that narrow view every deck in the game is optimized. Fun fact, Wake only requires 1 fusion E Hero and the rest can be generic warrior, so how about expand your view a little. Rewatch the 2 vids that feature 2 games that the hero game: they only summon Crusader once per game (2nd copy is unnecessary) and never summon Blast, Dangerous, Shining Neos. These cards are like never get summon ever: for a brick-hand, you can't summon them; meanwhile for a not-brick-hand, why would you summon them.
Like I said "the hero community pick up the learning pace and optimize their extra deck". There is no grind game with hero deck especially in tournament, so why bother prepare the extra deck for it. If you want to see a real grind-game, literally watch swordsoul grind a 60 cards branded deck in Dkayed Meta Weekly #92 for 1st place.

I don't have a personal problem with the deck my self but if we ignore feelings, and look at the numbers, it is clear that they need to be hit.

Snake eyes has WAYYYYY too much recursion. Deck might actually need an emergency ban when it just swims through hand traps and board breakers.

Most hand traps just feel like minus 1s right now. There are exceptions(i.e. Maxx "C"), but I'm finding the prospect of stacking engines or specialized board breakers with Snake Eyes a lot more appealing than watching an entire board rebuild itself after a Nibiru, or an Ah BLOS get snatched by Hiita to go into full combo with.
That said, monster theft stonks are at the highest rates in a while. TTT and CoH punish Apollousa spam incredibly hard. Droplet is great for triggering the float effects of Snake-eye engine during the opponent's turn. And if you DO need to play hand traps, remember to focus on hitting the GY(D.D. Crow can spot banish to bypass certain chain blocks) and backrow(Ghost Ogre can pop Cont and Field Spells when they trigger anytime after activation which shuts off their effects and many grind games) when possible.

lowkey last weeks was way better before all the snake eye players started using the turn 1 negate version of the deck over the regular version. These duels are wayyy less interactive.

I will always cheer for a Hero deck. It's a 20 year old deck that can still hang with modern big leagues, and it's still getting support. Who doesn't love an underdog story?
yeah i adore them. i got a royal shadow mist pulling for super poly back in april 2022, and i’ve held onto it slowly amassing more and more hero cards. still like 10 away or so but eh
