Thats a sweet machine, I think its perfect size for general landscaping installs... Skid steer first though ... You can't match moving large volumes with skidsteer over an ex

Nice video thank you very much. I have 150 foot retaining wall that I need to build and I have 2200 pound blocks but I wanted to use the excavator to carry them as well. Does that not work? I heard you mention that I need a skid steer to bring the materials in …..but I don’t have money for both.

I would say look for a "Loader", which is one of the backhoe type tractors. It will have both an excavator type shovel and a larger shovel which can do the cargo lifting/carrying you are talking about. Depending on what you are getting, it is very similar pricing to just an excavator.

Hard to get good machines around here. The resellers snap up the good deals and then flip em for 3 to 5 grand more.

I am guessing, This is a $125/Hour Machine? What does the business end look like? What do you need to think about when pricing a job?

Funny how you rambled on about so many things but missed the main things that most young people today have no clue. Sure you noted hoses leaks. But before a hose leak the rubber on the hoses Crack an water rusts the steel wire bread an soon to blow. Years ago hoses were cheap an half the time it leaking right at the fitting. Back then you could take the fitting a part cut 3" off the hose and screw the 2 peace fitting back together an conect it back up an your back up an running. Or you always had a roll of each of the sizes hoses you use on the truck. All you did was roll out the length of hose you need. Cut it. Take your old hose off. Remove the 2 2 peace fittings from old hose with 2 wrenches an install them on the new peace of hose. Hose is cheap you can buy a 100' roll of 4 wire 5000psi 1/2" hose for $100 cnd but today is a throw away world an all the mfg went to very costly one time use crimp on fittings at $50 each. So a 4' 1/2" 4 wire hose with a #8 female swivel jic cost you $200. Add that up a few times for every brake down plus the long drive an long down time one hose just cost you a $1000. Main thing you missed is engen blow by. Take the breather hose off an bring the rpm up an look for Fumes coming out the holes. If there is. That engen going to need a rebuild before long. I rent mini excavators as well as big full size one. It not cost effective to buy. With our long cold 40 below winters an excavator sits 8 months out of the year. We're I can rent a 1200lb machine for $1200 for 7 days an have 8 hour a day use of it. It hard to put 8 hours a day on an excavator even if you loading trucks all day. We're I use to rent a 100hp track loader a lot so this year I bought a new T770 97hp no goverment juice, bobcat with 4 attachment for $179,000 cash. If you can't pay cash you don't need it. Rent it.
Heat an air as this is in demand year round.

Sage advice for just about everything in life in my opinion! Well said sir. I am in the market for a machine just waiting for the right deal to come along. I rented a machine to do some work on my little farm and started a road on a steep hill with a switchback. Got it about a quarter done and got sick of the 2500 a month payment. Rather spend the money on my own machine there's so many projects to do. Congrats on your new machine sounds like a bad boy! Owning a skid steer and mini ex is my goal for this summer.

That's not a bumper, it's a counterweight!. The control patterns are International Standards Organization (ISO) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Pistons are in the hydraulic cylinders, they are commonly referred to as cylinders. They are not track tensioners, they are track rollers. I could go on but there isn't enough room. You did make a few valid points, but from the viewpoint of a novice. It was kinda painful to watch.

they're not really any more unstable, if you're trying to lift heavy shit then any machine the same size will be somewhat the same. I've had my u55-4 in some ungodly positions... never once had an issue. close to 10 years operating 5.5 tonners and below and not a single tipover.
