We also have a new owner, management staff, development staff and upgraded facilities along with 2 NHL superstars. But this isn't about the leafs, Ottawa fans have been begging for Ottawa coverage. I think enough is enough with the Ottawa to Quebec comments. Ottawa has a great fan base who’s been taken for granted by their owner and watched their team mismanaged and taken apart before their eyes. Doing what seems like all he can to lose our fan base. Solution bring us a new owner that cares about the team, the city and the people of Ottawa.
Either that or the NHL is gonna have to expand to 36 if Melnyk moves to Quebec City. To be fair, I’d rather it be given to a new owner so ottawa stays, but Melnyk seems dead set on staying owner.

As someone who work for the senators organization I can tell you they do treat us like complete trash not paying people, stealing money from events and some other things they still owe me $500 and it’s been a year and I don’t expect them to pay me or others

@James Bande Ottawa was near the top of league in attendance for almost 15 years, it's no coincidence that attendance has fallen, nearly 5,000 season ticket holders gave up their tickets last year... nobody is driving 40 kilometers outside of Ottawa to watch this effing team play, because you know.. the Senators don't actually play in Ottawa... use your god damn head!

The media downplays it but the Sens have many, many fans. Probably more fans than Florida and Arizona combined honestly. I think Melnyk needs to sell the team NOW but they'll stay in Ottawa. This whole organization went to crap when they missed out on the Taylor hall trade, cause melnyk was out playing golf instead of answering his phone. He missed out on a piece that would have gave them that push to get a cup the next season. Instead of the top guys owning up to their mistake, they tried to save face by bringing in Duchesne. It's kinda like losing big in a poker hand and then trying to recoup your loses. It never works, you just keep losing until you got nothing left.

I’d still rather be the sens than the oilers. The sens are stacked with prospects, picks and cap space. The oilers are capped out and have one bona fide prospect in their pipeline.
Melnyk is just a weird guy. Anyone who buys a sports team to make a consistent annual profit and throws a public fit when he’s in the red is bound to be full of weird ideas about how to run the hockey operations. Billionaires buy teams for their personal prestige, ego validation and to turn an eventual profit on the appreciation of the franchise. Melnyk runs his team like he’s operating a convenience store.

If Ottawa had better ownership, a GM that can rebuild, and a scouting staff that is better at the pro and amateur valuations for finding important players. This is why Ottawa is backsliding tremendously.
