The year was 1993 and Voodoo was the club. Saturday night had an industrial room & me & my sis would get selected to dance on the tables. We wore fishnet crop tops over our bras with man made denim shorts & thigh highs. Ministry plummeted through the speakers & people lost themselves in mosh pits. Nobody had a dime to buy a drink but there were plenty of cigarettes to go around. People’s inhibitions were no match to its magic and nobody gave a shit what anyone did. The magic ended at 12:30 when our mom came to pick us up. We met all sorts of people & made memories never documented every Saturday night before I started Highschool. What a glorious time to be alive ❤

While I was editing this clip with HGUN, Al and Paul showed up, and the NRG this song brings out in everyone was contagious. I asked Al who "the men below" were. After a long pause and a cold stare, he said "we all know who they are..." For all the screaming, the wall of sound and his 'look', I think Al's music is in many ways about love. Calling out evil. Being on the side of what's right. "I scare myself because I know I'm right..."

This is when Ministry really was something. The music was a lot more raw and powerful, Scaccia was still alive and kicking, Rieflin was beating the Christ out of the skins, and it seemed they had two of each musician: keyboards, drums etc. And Jourgensen didn't have to go out of his way to look like some alien warlord to sell.

the bassist is my favorite in this video because everyone in this band is like "I was born in a dumpster", or "heroin is a respite against misery" and Paul Barker just stands there with his bass kind of annoyed because he has no one to play Magic the Gathering with

    Lyrics:
Will these dream still follow me
    On a dark obscurity
Can’t you see it up in the sky
As it kicks you in the face and sucks you dry
    You never had the answers
And now you tell me the facts of life
I really couldn’t be bothered with you
Get out of my face and watch me die
    Burning inside! Burning inside!
    Absolution and a frozen room
Are the dreams of men below
I try to grab it, but the touch is hot
A mirror collapses, but the image cannot
I’m scared of the darkness in light
I scare myself because I know I’m right
I see the evil in your savage eye
As it cuts right through the sky
    Burning inside! (8x)
Calming a mantra with the blade of the skin
    For the demons within
I feel the pain, as the death and decay
But the lesson never fades away
    Tormenting shadows, turn them away
You throw the man through the window pane
Another slave and a victim of fate
    Another lesson in hate
    Burning inside! (8x)
    (Radio garble)
    Burning inside! (16x)
