Vids like this remind of my childhood, I used to sit on gates for hours watching silaging never got tired of it
Didn't we all😌
@@tristantobias4103 I'm not Shure if ur real or a robot
@Devin Lance I'd say your the same fella
Love these videos. When you can see that its actually possible to reverse a silage harvester into a trailer (with the tow hitch hidden behind it) and to reverse both of them like a train when the load is full makes me so angry when I'm stuck in a car park and some dimwit ahead of you can't even reverse a small little car into a space while the rest of us are waiting lol. Anyone who grew up on a farm definitely can drive anything. My biggest issue with driving a car after learning on tractors was that I was on the side now as opposed to the middle of the cab in a tractor and I was unable to see the front wheels lol. Didn't take me long to adapt mind you. I still miss those days.
Fantastic video Phil , no school like old school, would sit for hours on gates watching outfits like this😉
We still use a JF for silage. A 1050. 200hp up front and towing 20 foot trailers, picking up 20 foot swaths. We do 40 acres a day comfortably. Cheap silage and well chopped and easy to handle in the pit.
You may put a video up online this summer like to see it in action
It's great to have all these old videos just to see how far yous have come on.
That we cutter is well set up judging with the blow it’s got.
Awesome tractor ! I love the horizontal gear leavers on the 2000 series ! 👍
Excellent video, that harvester was some job
Ah great footage!👍👍👍
Fantastic video thank you 👍👍👍
Loving these vids phil
Excellent video
We have an jf 1360 and its good! Pulled by an Jd 7810
nice video ! 👍
Great video. I bet you don’t over fill them now 😂😂
Was hoping the land rover was pulling up to hook the trailer on!
👍🏻👍🏻
Interesting
It's safe to say the power was there to run it,
Fair swarts
They are 18ft swarths as my father had a 9ft tarup mower with a grouper on it
J.f is the best sounding yoke ever made hi
had a 2620 2wd .....minter ....often sorry for selling it ......
Lovely video, Would you have any chance to tell me what camera was used to record this?
Thank you very much indeed for the upload
-Steff
Classic 😅
👍
Savage roar out of the 2720. Was the JF brand new?
no it was a few years old
Those jf's can really blow that was a decent outfit back in the day, how did you like the 2720?
It was before my time but my father loved it and is still sorry he sold it
Ya some Bolix I know can't get into the auld tractor with 200 hp .
He'd rather put in the next Swarts?
Can't Understand silage scattered across a field and all the machines fellows have today?
Dirty clothy work?
@@FARMERPHIL3690 Did your grand father (Mother Phil's father) have one as well? I remember him bringing home cattle for my father in the late 90's. the first day he used a 699 and he used the 2000 series Massey the next day after the hazards module burned out taking home the last load in the dark the evening before.
Should have 2 lads drawing always keep j f 900 flat to mat
Where a pic of young father Phil
So blow on the jf 900
did ye ever break the gear handle off on the 2720? easily done.good tractor.good big cab.
No we never broke it tho my father said someone before him had welded back on the forward reverse lever
I broke the gear stick Clean off the floor on a fiat 110-90 one time
I broke gear lever on 2640
So it was crunch time as to which gear to chose when that happened..
( haha.
Hi Henry here what age were you back in 96 Phil?
I'm guessing he started school that September 😉
At the time that video was taken I hadn’t come on the scene yet but I was soon after
That’s not a Ford 7710 on trailer duties is it? Their as rare as rocking horse shit nowadays. Cracking footage as usual though, thoroughly enjoyed it
I think it is I’m not 100% sure belonged to an uncle of mine. Thank you
Just found out the Ford is a 6710
Ah smashing, their even more rare I think. Thanks for the reply :)
