- I have been streaming on twitch for over 4 years and had even become a partner in that time. However, recently I was banned without an explanation given and despite my attempts to contact staff, they have remained silent. I want to talk about my experience with them throughout this situation, prior ones and twitch in general.

I mean, the fact that they made it against the rules for to say people get special treatment for sexual favors, weather it's true or not, is really telling. They literally ban people who just speak ill of twitch.

“But nothing is sexual about the hot tub streams” they say, yet get really squirmy when you ask if they’d be comfortable with a twelve-year-old doing that kind of thing.
@Lydia No if one is sexual then so is the other. If both were fully clothed in normal clothing it would be fine but thats not whats talked about.
Twitch is not officially a camgirl site.
Also even if someone is clothed it doesn't mean the situation cannot be sexual if they are doing suggestive things and even then Bikinis and other swimsuits are for all intends and purposes underwear and cover about the same space on a woman. Pretty sure you can't sit around in your underwear on twitch either.
@Lydia No well that's a little bit of a extreme example, i wouldn't like a kid doing even a regular gaming stream and being exposed to who knows how many strangers on the internet.
In my case it's a matter of consistency more than who is watching or not, if kids are watching it's their parent's responsability for leaving them on the internet unsupervised.
For me is more of a matter of either everyone is allowed to do it or nobody is, wich isn't the case currently. Twitch keeps giving this streamers special treatment while banning others for the tiniest viiolation of TOS...

It does seem funny that Twitch seems marginally worse than CZcams after years of criticizing this platform. While CZcams has always been negligent, Twitch seems to have active moderation that attempts to influence a culture that their staff personally favours, even if it loses them money. And that culture is one that would rather spend time restricting narrowly ableist terms than working to improve accessibility features for the very same groups of people.
Speaking of that, kudos for having closed captions even on videos like this, available the moment it's uploaded no less. That's based as hell, man.

Twitch rules are specifically designed to adapt to the reason they want their punishment to be. That way they can ban whoever they want for whatever they want.
@Lydia Pretty much, Section 230 is supposed to narrow the scope to at least good faith moderation but they are never punished for blatantly ignoring that criteria.
@Lydia I'm just pointing out that the unlimited unilateral unjustified banpower is already illegal and has been for decades in both the letter and spirit of the law and the only reason they have the power to do it is due to deliberate abnegation responsibilities by the legal system. There are also hard limits on what one can get away with even with a contract, for example Patreon kerfuffle not that long ago where they tried to weasel out of their own binding arbitration clause on account of it backfiring, with a last minute TOS change and the judge was having none of it. Contracts and elements of them that are unenforcable and or done in bad faith are also voided and quite literally every TOS is done in bad faith as proven by consistently uneven enforcement. You probably know much of this anyway and if I'm coming across as adversarial I apologize I just feel the need to spread such information as a shocking amount of people have no idea how to argue back against the technocrat corporate overlords and their shill drones.
@Lydia If you're referring to the takes I think you are (such as being ok with the word "Trap", feeling marginalized from the LGBT+ community and acknowledging this weird problem of gender non-conforming people feeling pressured to identify as trans even by his own personal experiences?), it's odd you're referring to them in a past sense. As far as I'm aware, his stances haven't changed. He's a gaming channel largely and it's not what his channels are about, but I don't believe his opinions have ever changed. Just recently he uploaded a video talking about issues with the dubbing industry, being extremely politically biased and those insertions being put there in bad faith, undermining the audience expecting decent, faithful translations and really nothing more. I imagine none of that had landed him in good graces with Twitch Mods, I agree - but I see them all as his current viewpoints.
Twitch now hates Arts, but they love the donations in those hot tub streamers, the main page is a joke.

I'm really sorry to hear this Dimitri. This is incredibly unfortunate, hopefully if we raise some noise this can be undone but Twitch is very selective in how they enforce so I'm doubtful it'll do much.

I’d tag Twitch and Twitch support on Twitter, sadly it’s the best way to get their attention on a public platform. Only people with decent sized followers have a chance of getting their account back.

There are 1-2 streamers on Twitch that I try to tune in on a regular basis, only one of which has a regular schedule, and both of which have a CZcams channel too. The rest I have followed, but only tune in if I'm already on the site, probably off of one of the streams of my main two. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be on Twitch at all. It sucks that this happened, but it's true that you're probably better off without them.
I'm having deja vu watching this but I think this has just happened so many times to so many people I can't differentiate between them anymore.

Welcome to the club of banned on Twitch for no reason given (they cant provide a reason because there ISNT a reason for the ban to begin with), hopefully this doesnt demotivate you like it tends to do with others.
Also from what Ive heard, CZcams is a better streaming service since all streams are treated more equal and Google has really up'ed their streaming services a lot. It's basically on par if not better than Twitch in terms of streaming quality.

It sucks that Streaming and content creator websites insist on over-controlling everything we do or create + they insist on forcing us to watch what THEY WANT.
This is what TV did and I never cared or watched TV for over 10 years. Now the people in power there want to come to the internet and do the same thing, apply the same tactics: Destroy everything you love and tell us "iF yOu DoN't LikE iT, gO soMewHerE ElSe".
Guess what, people are starting to try new alternatives, and soon CZcams, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook will be replaced just like TV and other media that insisted on forcing whatever it wants on us.

I honestly prefer the streaming format on CZcams over twitch, and beyond that CZcams does not have extreme favoritism, I mean yeah, CZcams still without a shadow of a doubt has unfair favoritism, but it's not on the same absurd level that you will find of Twitch. Twitch has been making so many stupid decisions for so long that it wouldn't be such a bad thing if they went under.

People in general view the naked male body, hell, even a slightly exposed male body, with at least a small measure of distaste at best, and outright disgust at worst.
