  • I am currently a float pharmacist, meaning I "float" around and work different areas of the hospital depending on where they need me. I switch between Night shift and Day shift every 6 months. After working both type of shifts, here are my honest thoughts as I get ready in the morning!

Do pharmacists get paid a night differential for working nights?
Also do pharmacists get paid overtime or are they salaried?
I’m interested in getting my PharmD!

I was recently moved to work 6:30am to 7:15pm..but usually not leaving until 7:30pm. I work 2 days on 2 days off. ( 2-2-3). Basically every other weekend off. I like it better than working on nights. But I wish I had a Mon thru Fri 8 or 10 hr shifts.

Hi Sarah, i'm a highschool student and wanted to ask you, before entering any accelerated pharmacy program they ask for some pre requisities. Do you know where can I take them so I can apply? Thank you so much, love your content

awww thank you for the support! ☺️ If there aren’t any pre reqs provided by your high school, I believe it’s possible to complete them at a community college. However, I am not 100% sure since I did not do that route so double check with the school that you are interested in!

I am being forced to move from 7 on 7 off to 10 - 8 hour days every 2 weeks. Im considering quitting because of the schedule change.

maybe give it a try for a couple weeks or a few months! You might grow to like it :) I prefer the shorter days and the 8 hours matches the schedule of my SO/friends more, but it’s based on personal preference!

@@SarahPharmD Isn’t it frustrating having to be at the job 48 weeks out of the year though when you were used to only being there for 24 weeks out of the year?
It severely affects ability to hold a second job.

Do you want to pursue clinical pharmacy in the US or India? I am not 100% sure, but for the US, you may have to take our boards so that you can practice here! I also recommend residency if possible so that you get a year of training/experience 😊

@@mohammedriyas7980 Hi! So sorry for the late response! Yes, completing a residency program in the US will make you more competitive for a clinical hospital pharmacist position :)
