- My mom and I have the same taste in books so I was so curious what she would pick for me if she had free rein in a book store! So I let my mom pick FOUR books for me to read this week… and she did pretty good!

Since you mentioned wanting to read more queer stories I figured I would suggest some that I’ve read recently. My girlfriend and I have been reading a bunch of queer (specifically wlw) books and have been loving them (these are all 4 or 5 star reads for me)!!! Here are the suggestions:
Fantasy:
Girls of Paper and Fire series (already mentioned here before)
Sweet and Bitter Magic (YA witchy, cute)
Romance
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (also historical fiction)
One Last Stop (sci-if with elements of different time periods, some spice)
I Kissed Shara Wheeler (elements of mystery)
Delilah Green Doesn’t Care (spice in this one)

Loving your book content. So nice to "meet" your mom here. She made some good choices, which I have added to my TBR shelf on Good Reads. I'm currently reading The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen. Both so far are really good!

I dare you to try The Storygraph! I’m a big fan, lots of people are making the switch from goodreads. You can transfer all of your books at the press of a button. You don’t have to delete goodreads, but try storygraph! I personally use the storygraph for quarter rankings - 3.75, 4.5, you get the drift.
The bright falls series (3 interconnected stand alones) are f/f romcoms 😊
Also not a huge fan of the shadow and bone trilogy but six of crows & crooked kingdom are 👌
Do I need to read the whole shadow and bone series before starting six of crows?
@@sam.kwiatkowski I don’t think so, you mostly just need to know the general world - grishas and what their powers are- and even then, that’s not necessary
I didn’t have a problem reading them with only reading book 1 of shadow and bone (and DNFing the second 😂)

Re LGBTQIA+ books: I just got a set of Alice Oseman YA novels because I loved Heartstopper. So I have Loveless, I Was Born for This, Radio Silence, This Winter, and Nick and Charlie. Also, I found out she has a Red Bubble account and sells her art there.
I feel like I used to give out 5 stars pretty easily but I’m a lot more strict now!!

I literally didn’t buy a book the other day coz the cover didn’t cover the pages and I downloaded it on kindle instead. Was so frustrating coz it was a pretty cover

I used a gift card that was a gift from Christmas! I haven’t spent any money on Starbucks but I wasn’t sure if gift cards was okay since it’s not giving anything new to the company?
