    2:03:02 Music City Miracle
Known as the "Music City Miracle" this instant classic featured the Tennessee Titans in their first playoff game since the franchise moved from Houston. What made this game so spectacular was the ending, with only 16 seconds remaining in the game Buffalo took a 16-15 lead. However, on the ensuing kickoff Frank Wycheck threw a cross-field lateral to Kevin Dyson. The play caught the Bills by surprise and gave Dyson an easy walk in touchdown for the win. The play is still seen as one of the most controversial in NFL history, some claiming the lateral to be an illegal forward pass.

@@dolphinsneu Fine. Then run a play and spike it with 7 seconds left if you're that worried about a bad snap. But don't kick it with 20 seconds left. Because they left so much time, the Bills could not afford to just squib the ball up the middle. The Titans still had a timeout and only needed a fg to win. I remember thinking it was crazy to kick with 20 seconds left.

Not only did I see this live. Not only was I convinced that it was a forward lateral (and am _still_ convinced that if they'd called it that it wouldn't be overturned, but it's no longer obvious to my biased eyes that it was a bad play). But I remember being a WCW fan... well... kind of... okay, they had the unopposed first hour so I'd tune in to them at 8 before switching to WWF Raw at 9... and where are they? Buffalo. Who's still a real life friend of Frank Wycheck? Jeff MF'ing Jarrett. Who walks out in front of the new-and-deproved-nWo? Double J with his Frank Wycheck jersey. You can't plan heat like that.

What's even more crazy is multiple bills fans and Wade Phillips refuse to take off the bills rose colored glasses still believing it's a illegal forward pass.
The instant replay shows a irrefutable truth its a freakin lateral.
Mythbusters should prove the obvious truth its a lateral so persons will finally give up the damn lie up that it's a forward pass.
      It's beyond sad

The problem with the computer simulation is that it misrepresented where Wycheck was when he threw the ball and how he threw it. It depicted him throwing the ball with his his arm fully extended and perpendicular to his body. It also depicted him as being further up the field than he actually was. The simulation proved nothing because it was incorrect.

Ralph Wilson ordered Rob Johnson to start because Doug Flutie was old and Rob Johnson was young, and he had a vision for Rob Johnson to be the next franchise guy (like Jim Kelly). He didn't care if Flutie gave them a better chance of winning; he wanted Johnson to be their guy.

Why would you kick an extra point after that play? It was 21-16 Titans... You go for 2-Point conversion and make it a 7 point game. If Buffalo scored on their final kickoff return (Although it was highly unlikely, although so was the Titans) all they had to do was make an extra point and they would've won instead of tying it... Bad coaching decision but also a great play call on the Miracle.

Brian Clark Fair point. Also, you’re right, the Bills should’ve ran a play and then spiked with seconds left. Some things coaches do just flabbergast me. Than again I’m an armchair critic who would decide his time management based off of Madden lol
