Thanks for this excellent tour of Havana. Especially the wonderful music. When my company transferred me to Puerto Rico, I resisted the music and the food and otherwise adapting for about a month. Then, on one Saturday, I turned off the air conditioning in my car, opened the windows and switched the radio to salsa music. And enjoyed the best food, which was Cuban. PS Your mother knows how to dress well. And your Spanish accent is muy bueno.
I visited Havana for a day while staying at Varadero for a week. I wasn't that impressed, but after seeing your video I just may stay for a week in Havana. Thanks for your amazing videos!
Another outstanding video Steve. Fusterlandia, I had never heard of it. But now I will research and hope to be there one day. Thank you sharing your holiday with all of us. Hope your Mum enjoyed her dream holiday.
Nice beautiful I never been to Cuba I will planned to go & when I become an film director, producer actress , writer, & cinematographer I make movies 🎥 in Havana
I love Everything about Cuba I met my wife in Cuba 🇨🇺 I think we have to plan more trips to Cuba to pay more support to our Latin Brothers and sisters there Cuba is Latina America we have to support our neighbor they are having issues with low tourism we need to support to change the direction our our neighbors
Researching many destinations for my 60th in Jan/2020 & I keep coming back to Cuba, not a cheap destination to get to from Cairns in Australia, however perhaps I will visit the UK first & celebrate my 60th with my parents then fly to Havana for 2 wks. Hopefully the visa application is straight forward. Hotels appear quite expensive & open to suggestions from tourists who have already visited Cuba. Also I presume you can only buy Cuban currency within Cuba !
Wonderful country..and if you would like little tips.. Dont stay at the hotel it's to expensiv find a b&b homestay it's much better and they even serve you a Nice breakfast fore 5 cuc.. Beer price is about 2 dollars and drinks 2-8 cuc food are ok price too.. Actully the one thing you use most money on is transport, remember to get your price first and never axcept the first price they are giving you.. And if you are going bring little gift fore the local ppl they are missing almost everything so it's a nice thing to do.. Normale salary is only 30 dollar in one month so if you not are lucky to work in tourist industri were you can make little extra..it's hard but Cuba is very safe and have the most kind and friendly people.. So much love.
Great video!Just one question about the aerial footage in this video? Is that recorded by you and if yes how did you manage to pass customs in Cuba with a drone.
Great tips! We used these before going to Cuba and we have made our own movie about it while being in Cuba! If anyone wants to see more tips before going there, check out our top 10 of Cuba 😄
Hey Steve! Love the video! I'm planning on going to Havana in a fews weeks to film some videos and was wondering how you were able to get some of that drone footage? From what i've read online it doesn't look like you're allowed to fly/bring a drone into Cuba.
@@anonie8770 Very cheap We jumped in the first car (Pink 53-54 Cev convertible) with driver and his mate, that we met. Probaly could have negotiated less ,if we were that way inclined But thses guys were great, any way. Or with another purveyor
We went to a cigar factory in Havana , and even this was a step back in time. The tobacco presses were mechanically driven and pure vintage ,No hydraulics or pneumatics, like in modern factories. Everything was hands on, So this is why you pay heaps, for th best cigars in the world
I highly recommend these because i am from here and rasid there for 7 years and there is one big zoo that my uncle owns and if your looking for lions, tigers you should go there you get a ride around all of the park and get to gat a delicious meal highly recommend
Our guide told us that under the bonnet (sorry hood) some classics, have modern engines .Basically because of the, juvenile minded U S embargo on spare parts i suppose
The unfortunate reality is the multitude of complications that leave all of the activities difficult to do easily and safely. Try to remember that cuba is basically Afghanistan befor and after the taliban took over. In the 1950s it was the worlds epicenter of Latino literacy and culture now it is basically what would happen if you put Venisuala on an island. As long as Cubans call Castro hero and russia friend it's people will continue to needlessly suffer. Maybe America needs to be the bigger country, maybe Cubans need a realistic approach to geopolitical relations. The issue will remain every bit as cultural as it is political and unfortunately I believe it will only get worse before it gets better.
They have life long sanctions imposed on them by the US for over 60 years now, even UN’s latest resolution to remove such inhumane sanctions was vetoed by USA and Israel - whilst over 190 countries agreed. Its not a surprise that after several attempted coups and hundreds of sanctions crippling their economy, they dont want anything to do with the US. Even today, Havana outperforms its neighbours, whilst also outperforming the USA in certain statistics such as healthcare.
@Ismar A country can not exist solely off of trade with another country. Otherwise, on paper, it is part of that country. If the cuban government wants to continue their communist status, America does not and should not support it. The only way for Cuba to survive is to abandon it is pre soviet economic model and restructure its government in such a way that bilateral trade can even be discussed with America.
Afghanistan Taliban. What are you smokin, bro I visited Cuba and i loved it. Its a 3rd world country after all and didnt expect anything else But it has a unique life style where people seem very happy and have Universal Health Care Who would live in a country without ,this ,where doctors influence the politics
My thoughts exactly. This video is really out of touch with the reality of that country. There is barely anything to do there. If you want to see an overview of what's it really like in Cuba check out Bald and Bankrupt's channel. I honestly was shocked.
@@Broocs Bruh compare a small town and a large urban center in any country. Havana and several other cities in Cuba are quite beautiful but much of Cuba needs a fresh coat of paint and if the embargo is lifted they'll have better access to consumer goods. I'm sorry if this video creates cognitive dissonance for you, but look at all the other comments. Parts of Cuba are truly great.

Hey Joe, that is right. The drone footage you see in my video was not taken by me, instead I bought it from a stock library.
@@BackPackerSteve Thanks I will most likely have to do the same!
I use to live near the water like I don’t remember what it’s called tho
Very informative video! Looks like a fun place to visit. Do you need a special permission to fly a drone in Cuba?
I was just wondering about this! I just watched a video about a guy that spent 13 days in jail for flying in the wrong area
Love it! How much to rent the car and how many hours?
I think the video said for $10.00 for 3 hours.

How did you get your drone into cuba?
Im reading that most drones get confiscated at customs when entering cuba.
I didn't - I licensed the drone footage in this video for that exact reason ;)
