  • I am going to be filming a video for every day of this framing job, showing everything we do and all the mistakes/problems we encounter throughout the job.
    For the first day we cut in the wall plates, went through marking out all of our walls and got a start with framing them together.
    I want to make this series an enjoyable fun series to watch, but also share some knowledge and tips as we go. If you have any questions about framing, ill try to answer them all throughout this series!

    Awesome to see an Aussie channel covering this stuff mate. I usually watch the Americans but love that I can follow along when you're calling out in Metric! Not a builder, but someone who loves to learn and do my best to do it the right way. Appreciate the effort that goes into filming. Cheers!

    19:11 hey dave just wondering if the hoopiron cross is facing internally, when it comes to lockup how would you buzz those walls? (Assuming you had the studs bow down when building that wall) also great work looking forward to your videos to come!

    • @AustralianCapitalTravelers
      @AustralianCapitalTravelers Před 3 měsíci

      You get a nail puller and take out the clouts that were nailed into the hoop iron and then grab a circular saw and do a small cut into the stud above and below the hoop iron and chisel that bit out. When you do that the face of the hoop iron will be well below face of the stud so then you can easily plane it

    great video. i did notice u wanted to find the center on one of the external walls. and you hang the tape over 150 and then brought it in 150 on the other side. there is not need for this as they cancel each other out you can just hook on next time and find the center of ya room

      There’s a lot to take in and learn on a frame, I’ll go over a lot of the stuff with apprentices and never expect them to remember most of it. But every time we frame I’ll keep re teaching them what I know, going over the same things and after a while they’ll begin to remember everything.
