Mark should have known better. He had to know he was going down a rabbit hole? I think he knew exactly what was going on, and he simply followed through on the exercise to prove another point? If he had simply called the so-called funeral home to tell them that he would pay associated fees for the funeral, then this abominable creature who calls herself his daughter would not have been able to pull off the scam on the one person in the world who took an interest in their family and has bettered their lives exponentially. I have met Mark Laita’s sister and kinder person and a the Laita’s are honorable people. One of the reasons Mark began this channel was because he wanted to try to help people in a small way, and in the effort of helping marginalized people, he wanted to shine a light on the circumstances that some people find themselves. It was a way to help people avoid making similar mistakes. Shame on this woman for doing this!

I’m from WV and started to see right through these people once all the random family members started showing up. Because the same thing happened to me and mine. I got out and made something of myself and that’s when I had my dope fiend cousins (that I hadn’t heard from in years) asking for “help”. It’s like feeding a stray cat, you do it once they’ll keep coming back. Betty is just as guilty as BJ. She knows right from wrong. Good on ya for putting them on blast Mark.
I am so shocked by this whole situation. I would have never ever thought this would happen. So many people are hurting because of all of BJ's deceit and lies. I feel so sorry for Ray, Timmy and Lorraine. And also for Mark and the contributors. He tried so hard to help this family and make their lives better. And $100k later they are still living the same. I was one of the donors. They can keep the money. If it means Ray, Timmy, and Lorraine got a meal, it was worth it. The bad and good you put out into the world will come full circle eventually. I will never regret trying to help someone, but once it’s proven they are lying, I’m done. I’m sure most of the other donors feel the same. I’m just shocked about all of this.

I just love watching Ray.
He’s a good guy. I watched one of these videos where he was showing where some of his relatives were burried and he was sad. In another he was showing mark veggies he planted. He’s a proud man. He’s kind and he’s grateful for all Mark has done. He shows him his new things as if to say thank you. He’s expressive and helps everyone as best he can. For him to only grunt I wonder what his childhood was like. Was he left alone all the time with just the dogs as company. Hes the only honest one in that family!

It gets tricky when drugs are involved. Addiction is a very self serving illness. People are willing to traffic their own children to avoid getting sick and withdrawing. Then sobering up and facing the damage that affects so many people. It’s a vicious cycle. I hope they get well.

I don’t blame you Mark but I’m sad that the money wasn’t set up in a trust with a local lawyer in charge of administering funds. He didn’t even live across the road from them until Mark starting coming around and helping the others. I didn’t trust him or the rest of his clan when the first started showing up. Example, if my brother told me he found out that my sister had died and I contacted my mom and my mom ALSO confirmed that my sister had died. Then I would have no real reason not to believe that my sister had died. Even though my mom is shady and lies about things sometimes, you would have to be pretty evil to LIE about someone dying.

Many families with addicts go through the same ordeal. Where people could easily point fingers and Betty and Larry I have sympathy for them as I know first hand how it is with a family member you love is addicted and the constant battle of saying no and caving in to the addicts demand for money to buy drugs especially with opioids and the sickness. It’s only something you can truly understand when it effects you personally

Ill always help people, but I have had to set firm boundaries, because the majority of people who Ive helped/help are homeless and have been and probably always will be, because they show you, rather fast, why. They have almost certainly burned every bridge, thoroughly. It sucks and I still feel bad for them, but I have to make sure my home and family are safe before anything and I was, at one point, really putting myself out there, inviting people in my home, and unfortunately, Ive been screwed over, more often than not. They were surprised and not able to have someone clean the house and porch before Mark's visit. They were prewarned all the previous times when Mark was going to arrive. They would then pay someone to clean for them. This is the way that they choose to live. It's what they are comfortable with. The way they have lived their entire life, and even a new place would look the same way in no time. But they never had plans of leaving that property anyway. The reason that they patched the old place up. And believe me there are a lot of crooks around that area that took advantage of them to do the small amount of shotty, jack leg work that was done.
