Ponty never took a step backwards. As always Martyn Williams was first in.

how easy to paint frenchs as animals... well France and all over the world rugby are absolutely scandalized or amused by constant biased british comments. how can honest journalists can be so one-eyed is absolutely unreal...? in a fight, u need 2 sides. why brive should provoke a war when they utterly dominated??? my only conclusion is: sour grapes and victimization as usual.
i mean the world rugby nation who suffers the most coward and unfair ref decisions was, is and will always be France.

it wasn't just left on the pitch though was it? - ponty fans were spat on and coined and then the brive players invited ponty players to a nightclub and attacked them in a cowardly fashion - and then your corrupt policemen showed up and made things even worse - wives and children were in that bar. If you can not act in an honourable manner after the game has ended then yes you will be branded as animals. personally I wouldn't call them animals - just scum.

Djezon absolutely correct. Every nation has its thugs, but because rugby is an anglophone game the main target for blame are the French. The shameful attitude of the English RFU has been do what you want, but don't get caught. Burton and Rodber were "unlucky" and got caught. Eye gouging thug, Dylan Hartley was not sent off, so the English RFU continued to allow him to play.
