      Not only that but the angles on the front remind me of the St Vincent model they have, which is a cool looking guitar, but I always found it very uncomfortable when trying it out. The combination of lines and curves here seems much more comfortable while having angular lines still

    Not many people talk about how Kaizen is actually the Japanese philosophy on "continuous improvement". It's quite fitting of a name for what this guitar is trying to accomplish.

      Ah, yes...money people will be happy. I'm going to go outside and let everyone know, that things are going to be ok, because of a $4,000 guitar. That guitar is 10 years old of tech, and 1/3 of wood weight. If you want' to believe that's a value, then have at it, LMAO. Tight pants and clean-cut tech bro beards sure do act funny.

      @@tylerhawksmoor9601 That is some childish response. How about some Evidence of what people speak here?: People like this have created a market that is cutting people off just because they get inheritance money and leave everyone behind. If you want that world, then you get what you get. Besides, a well-made guitar could be made around $1,000, If you want a bunch of Royals to make themselves and others Kings again, good luck with that.

      @@justletmepostthis276 hey kid, if you cant afford a guitar that doesnt make it "not worth it". If anything that makes *YOU* "not worth it". Maybe get a decent job and stop working part time for minimum wage and you can entertain instruments that cost more than few ramen noodle packets.
      Its not even that you have to buy an expensive guitar to enjoy it. Its just that your take is unbelievably poor lol. "I cant afford it, so its bad". Its a very immature and churlish take lol. To go out of your way to bash people that WILL enjoy it for the simple fact you lack gainful employment is pretty pathetic at best.

    Picked a Kaizen 7 in ember burst from a very amenable vender for $3300. I have it setup in an open tuning. The guitar is supremely versatile. While it’s not super aggressive, a boost really adds another layer to this guitar’s tone. The mid gain and ambient tones are remarkable. Great job, music man.

    • @JWTechn1qu3
      @JWTechn1qu3 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@hglenn2k I’ve only demoed strandbergs in stores so my experience is limited. There is no trapezoidal shape to this neck. The best way I can describe it is through the first 4 frets or so, it feels very normal. It’s easy and comfortable to grips your cowboy chords if needed. From there on down it is a bit asymmetrical. It’s thinner in some spots and thicker in others. The shape of the neck helps you keep your thumb in proper position when playing arpeggios. It’s doing the same thing as the strandberg just with a different approach.
      The neck is smooth as butter too, as all EBMM necks are.
      As Rebea mentioned the infinity radius is subtle, but it gives you more visibility, especially when standing. It’s the most comfortable guitar I’ve played.

    That middle clean position made me pay attention. What a nice sounding guitar.

  • @SmashAtoms
    @SmashAtoms Před 5 měsíci +1

    I just got a Kaizen 7 ember burst, and good lord, it’s such a beautiful guitar. The infinity radius is a great concept, and took very little getting used it. Like, you can tell the difference with your eyes, but it doesn’t “feel” different in your hands. Insanely fast and comfortable neck, and the Steinberger tuners are absolutely genius. The pickups sound amazing in all 3 positions. My only “gripe” is that I wish it was a hard tail just for that little extra tuning stabilty, or full on floating. As is, it feels too stiff for my tastes, so the tremolo arm’s probably just going to live in the case. All around great guitar that is a joy to play. Ergonomic to the utmost level. Cheers!

  • @PNWGuitar
    @PNWGuitar Před 9 měsíci +15

    That clean tone is phenomenal Rabbea! 👌

  • @DCJayhawk57
    @DCJayhawk57 Před 9 měsíci +4

    I'm not sure you directly alluded to it, but the infinity radius is to improve fret visualization on the higher strings. With the very slight multiscale and infinity radius, you can basically see all the frets in playing position when standing, it's pretty incredible. You don't notice until you compare to another guitar where you're having to constantly crain your neck.
    I have the Kaizen 7 and it's so comfortable. I play and practice standing, never liked playing sitting down even when I was a teenager, and I especially notice the balance and light weight of the Kaizen. When combined with a wide leather strap, you can play for hours and never notice it.
    The pickups are definitely unique. The heat-treated humbucker in the bridge isn't 100% to my taste, but I can solve any issues by how I boost and overdrive it (missing a little top end for me). The neck is a mini-humbucker which I prefer dirty, maybe a little muddy for me clean. But that middle position is so nice for cleans.
    It's a niche guitar in my arsenal, but arguably the most comfortable guitar I own.
    The main complaint modern players have had is about the scale length being somewhat short which limits ability to downtune much. You couldn't go down more than maybe a step from standard even with heavier gauge strings. I don't mind because I wanted a guitar in B standard, I'll use an 8 string for the super low stuff.

    Thanks 'Bea - You sounded great in the demo.
    I think this is the first Kaizen review I've seen that adequately described and visualised the infinity radius in a way that actually makes sense to me.
    I really do like the way the Kaizen looks and how much forward thinking has gone into it's design.
    The Kryptonite green is stunning against that shape.
    I respect that the Kaizen is distinct from Tosin's own brand of guitar and really comes across as a co-design.
    Would I rock one - Yes
    But I am a fan of single-cuts and dream of a single-cut version of it - all angles and sharp edges and thin as possible.
    Probably too close to the Abasi guitars though.

I would love to see an affordable Sterling version with the same body shape, and perhaps a fender or gibson scale, modern fender C shape neck with regular satin maple neck and a rosewood board. Then they could use one of the trems they already put on other Sterlings since it wouldnt be a multiscale neck. im rambling. Sick demo, Bea!

    Modern is the Parker Fly - still, though it is a development of the classical double cut body shape. I agree, that the Albert Lee signature could be one of the very early role models of the Kaizen. It's sad that for example Honey Suckle colour, maple fretboard and chrome hardware is limited to the six string Kaizens only.

    I always think it’s cool when an artist comes out with a new guitar design, so I feel like Tosin deserves some acknowledgement for designing something new and less derivative!
    Also, I think it’s great that Music Man is adventurous enough to put out such an unconventional guitar! It really makes Music Man (especially Brian) seem player-focused, and not over analyzing the profitability/margins the guitar would earn.
    With that said, I prefer traditional designs. When a guitar is so unique and so individualized to one guitarist, it makes owners of this guitar come across as “followers”. It’s a fine line between idolizing a particular guitarist, and trying to pretend to be someone you’re not.
    For example, I love Explorer shaped guitars, and because they’re a “normal” guitar model, anyone can play them and be an individual. However, if I saw someone play an ESP Snakebyte, I’d first think of James Hetfield, and anyone else that played a Snakebyte would seem like a JH Fanboi, and less of an individual. And, there’s something strange about a grown man LARPing someone else.
    With those points being addressed, I can appreciate the fact that Tosin’s name isn’t emblazoned across the guitar. So, I enjoy the new designs guitarists are coming up with, but I think this guitar is too personalized for Tosin specifically. And at the price these models are selling at, I’d be more comfortable buying a traditional designed guitar, and making it my own.
    I wish more companies would offer unique features at lower price points, so us guitarists can dabble and try new features without having to weigh the practicality of the instrument.

    I would own one if they didn't cost as much as they do. Hoping that sterling releases a more budget friendly version down the road at some point.

    Amazing tone man. Are you using standard tuning?

    I like the Kaizen 😊 Thanks for sharing! And btw thanks for your music - I really enjoy #Totemist. There‘s just one thing that makes me sad: there is no merch left in XXL or 3XL. Any chance that these size become available in the near future?

    If I'd ever stray away from the 1000$ guitar I would probably go for a MM, so cool.
