    This gives Toro an option for those cross shopping the typical battery mower with synthetic decks. The striping is the differentiator.

      Yes it is. But that much money for plastic?

      @@WooderBoyProductions Ego plastic mowers are in the same price range. But I thought they would be a greater price difference between the metal decks and the plastic decks. I ended up going with a 60v SR.

    Love my light weight Toro Stripe. The way you keep your garage would be a problem in maintaining a mower in good condition. I keep mine inside.

    I have a Ryobi now and it’s extremely light lots of plastic. I had it for 4 years and no issues with damaging it. I am very curious to try this mover.

    I chose this mower primarily for the striping, which is just okay. The battery cover is flimsy as is the start button. It has fewer features than the competition (they have one touch height, battery indicator while using, nicer controls) and I probably would choose that over this in hindsight. That said, it does an excellent job of cutting the lawn and it’s lighter than others, simple to operate and the battery will do my entire lawn with some left over. It does stripe but on my lawn it’s not very noticeable.

    I happened to LOVE my Toro 60v Steel Deck Shelf-propelled mower I purchased a few years ago. It has been outstanding, so much I have the other yard equipment to go along with it. I probably wouldn't purchase this Plastic Deck mower.
    That being said, I can't stand gas lawn equipment. I hate the smell, mess, traveling with smelly gas, and year-end maintenance, so hopefully, it will start the next cutting year...
    A good title would have been "Don't by battery operated mowers," lol

    • @BlakWiseCracker
      @BlakWiseCracker Před rokem

      It’s safe for the environment due to the fact all you need to do is sit back and relax and let the African kids dig the mines by hand and sent to China the important ingredient soil for America’s products. When it comes time to recycle, send it back to Africa to their land fills. It’s been going on now for 3 decades. Don’t worry we’re safe unless Putin releases something even deadlier than batteries.

    It's not so much about "green" energy.... but the lack of fumes, headaches, gas, oil, spark plugs, CO, engine parts, cheap belts, filters, etc. Swapping out batteries is a pain, but its worth it.

    • @WooderBoyProductions
      @WooderBoyProductions  Před rokem +1

      Everything on the mower is on the Toro website. It looks like it can be adjusted from 1 inch to 4 inches. It’s just a bar and it’s not a roller so I would say it doesn’t stripe as well.

    • @antoniomedina7066
      @antoniomedina7066 Před rokem +2

      @@WooderBoyProductions yeah that’s what I was worried about. It says it’s lighter so less press down weight would make an inferior stripe? I’ve seen 4 point and 1 point height adjustment but this one says 2? 🤷🏽‍♂️ I’m guessing the red body is one type of material and the black is more of a rubbery number type material to prevent damage? I’m on the fence here. Need a new striper, and want a battery mower. Ugh. Really wanted this to be great.

    The initial carbon footprint is higher. But over time it's lower. It's easier for for an epa type company yot regulate one power plant for emissions instead of millions of lawn mowers. Nothing is ever going to be completely "green". Anything we harvest or mine for energy is going to have an environmental impact. Oil, trees, coal, etc.

I have a battery mower and trimmer, and I would never go back to gas. Its like going from a corded drill to cordless…. Pretty hard to go back.
