Great job on the video mate. Was an amazing trip
It was awesome! Thanks again.
Thanks Jas putting us onto Dan. I am definitely going to enjoy you as well Dan
@@Kevin-yi1fg Thanks heaps Kevin. Glad to have you watching mate !
The last time I drove a ute across a river repeatedly, I sang 'I'M ON A BOAT' loudly. Really fun! This video takes me back to that
Sounds fun, Rin. Glad to bring back a memory. I like water crossings too. When they are too deep its not worth risking....maybe I need a real boat?🙃
Great crossover with Jason , you’re in good hands .
Terrific video Dan , interesting area, nicely, edited. I’m glad Jason mentioned your work 👌. Thank you.
Thanks heaps Luca - appreciate this thoughtful comment and the encouragement is uplifting! Jason is a good fella to travel with👍👍
Great work Dan, she looks like a great ol truck , let the mods and weight gain begin 👊
Thanks heaps James😬 Proud to have found this vehicle - Going to serve us well I reckon. Doubt she will be 2.04t for long!!
Came across via Jason’s channel and as Frazer Crane would say “l like the cut of your gib” . Great to see some more relaxed touring instead of smash and bash.
Glad to have you here Shane, thanks heaps for watching and being a part of it - the encouragement is uplifting! Jason is a top bloke to travel with. Cheers👍👍😁
Ripper video!! Your piece camera about how quite it is, really makes me want to get “Out There”. Love the multiple camera angles, especially the water crossings. Thanks for all your efforts looking forward to the sequel.
Thanks Dave. A few mishaps in editing but overall proud of this one. Also got to change the colour settings on all gopros to the same, so Im not battling auto white balance in editing XD I appreciate your support more than you think👍👍
Hey Mate, hope you are doing well. Looking forward to the next video
Hi Terry, sorry I didn't reply to this before your comment on the new video. Thanks very much - it's really uplifting to get comments like this, that people like the videos enough to want more. There's going to be some great videos coming next few months - glad you are onboard. Cheers mate.😁
OTWD virgin here. What a great video mate. Subscribed! 👍🏻
Hi Del! Welcome mate - appreciate the encouragement! I had to laugh...glad I could pop your cherry 🤣 Will check out your vids in coming days too. Cheers.
A lot of history in that area. This is a region of the high country that I have not explored. Great video Dan. Thanks for sharing. I wonder what happens in the next episode?
Seems to be a lesser known region - Highly recommend it. Thanks for watching Michael, I appreciate your continual encouragement. The trip certainly takes an unexpected direction😉👍
Love the video and commentary. That mine you found was a scary looking hole😅
Hi J and Bash! Thanks heaps for the encouragement. Glad you enjoyed. Yep...a scary looking hole for sure. Be sure to check out Part 2 of this trip it was published on the weekend. Also, I have subscribed to you guys, will check out more videos in coming days. Thanks again 😬
Definitely a fire bunker. It’s a bit on the rough side inside with a few logs collapsed. Few of these around the high country.
Cassilis Mines are extremely dangerous, with the droughts of recent they reckon the tunnels are very unstable now, but it’s a remarkable area.
Heya Gav, That's great confirmation on what I suspected! Remarkable is a good summary. Thanks for watching! Cheers. Dan
A great video Dan, well done. I will be up on the High Country tracks when they reopen after winter, might bump into you and Jason one day ! cheers
Thanks heaps for watching John, glad you enjoyed and appreciate your encouragement! Looking forward to getting back there - mother natures playground. See you there😉
Looking good young Dan. Keep them coming.
Thanks for watching. Don't feel that young anymore😅. Appreciate the encouragement!
The long barrel shaped machinery looks like a ball mill. They would have big steel balls in there and feed the rock/ore in to get it broken up to extract the smaller nuggets and/or gold specks/dust. Then it would go through a wash plant to separate the gold from the gravel. Yeah.. I watch a bit of Aussie Gold Hunters 😛. Lugging all that stuff in by bullock dray or horses would have been hard yakka !!
I can only imagine the hard people that worked out there. That makes sense. Thanks heaps for sharing. I reckon that's on the money. I'll have to check out Aussie Gold Hunters. Cheers 😬
What epic scenery. The quiet and the isolation looks sublime. We wait eagerly for the next instalment Dan. Also, email en route with a huge thank you x
Incredible places to visit :) Glad that parcel made it. You are welcome - No rush in emailing. Hope everyone is well!😬
Great vid mate, love seeing the 90s in action.
Any ideas for a good drive during the winter closures?
Hey Jman mate appreciate the encouragement!😬 The 90 is such an awesome vehicle to shoot doing this stuff. Over winter I tend to do more basic camping and leave the touring (like the high country) to a different time. This trip was filmed ~one month before winter close. It's mothers nature playground up there and I love it...but we need to protect those tracks..I've been meaning to check out the Grampians and the Otways in more detail - reckon they'll make good winter trips. And a bit further east, some nice places still around Eildon. Any ideas in return? Cheers👍
Wow man! So much cool stuff to be found, what time of the year was this trip? It's so hard to plan trips with all the closures, its just a long trip from Sydney to find the area is closed for winter.
Yeah some cool things hiding in the scrub hey! The last day of this trip was the first day of May. You want to go as close to Kings Bday Public Holiday Weeekend as possible (typically late May/early June) but NOT after that - that's the date when everything closes. Being close to this date though increases chances of seeing snow. In general March - May is the best time - avoid the crowds, avoid the risk of fires (just be ready for the cold and a bit fire each night)! Cheers mate
Hi Dan, look forward to your next videos. What bullbar and winch do you have on your prado?
Hi KK thanks for the encouragement mate😬. It's a no brand bar, which seems to be a copy of an ARB bar, and the winch is a Runva (95000lb I think)
@@OTWD cheers!
