Yea, sure. Another Chinese propaganda movie showing those poor bastards who got forced to fight in a war they didn't want to fight. My uncle (who fought at the Chosin with the Marines) said that many of the Chinese soldiers fought well, but many didn't want to be there. One man (who I met years later) was a former Nationalist Chinese Soldier forced to fight or his family would be killed. He was captured and they died in a work camp a several years later. He was repatriated to the South Koreans and lived his remaining years in South Korea (where I met him in 1986). Mao was a ruthless warlord who kept control by killing or imprisoning all the former Nationalists (the survivors were forced to fight in Korea).

And they also said that the African Americans were send to the front lines to fight first.. the Chinese said that he never saw so many black people before, but a lot of black folks was killed in the first encounters…
@@DerrelTheReal I looked up the history of the black divisions in Korea and as well as integrated units during the war. Only one fully black regiment and a couple of black battalions fought at the Yalu area. They made up less than 10 percent of the troops fighting the Chinese during the early part of the war. Also, they fought very well in the retreat from the Yalu River. One segregated Army 25th Division (all black 24th Regiment) and one integrated (2nd Division) fought desperately to fight their out. The 24th Regiment as part of the 25th Division managed to fight their way out, but most of the integrated 2nd Division (with the survivors of the Black 9th Infantry Battalion leading) was wiped out or captured (even after intense fighting). So, if the Chinese saw them in their sector, that's who they were fighting. But there weren't enough black troops (Army or Marines) in all of Korea in late 1950 and early 1951 for the Chinese to have seen that many blacks along the entire front.
As for volunteers. I met one of those "volunteers" in South Korea in 1986. He got volunteered along with numbers of former Nationalists (many in labor and internment camps) that Mao wanted to use as cannon fodder to get them out of China (and not have to deal with possible "Counter Revolutionaries"). Most of the other "volunteers" were regular CCP military personnel assigned to fight in Korea as volunteers to avoid a Declaration of War between China and the United Nations. Most didn't exactly have a choice, either way. While there were actual Communist civilian volunteers (which was heavily propagandized in the Chinese media and international press), most were not. Which explains why almost half of all Chinese Prisoners refused to go back to the People's Republic of China.
@@marks1638 I don’t really care much for propaganda, because everyone uses propaganda to meet their own agenda.. even if they are “forced” they literally had a chance to leave China during war time.. there’s interview by the American side of Korean War veterans.. that states the Chinese were aggressive, so idk if that’s the Chinese that was “forced” to be aggressive to American Prisoners of war . Regardless the fact that Chinese still had the balls to rush American advance weaponry (machine guns, aircraft) and rely purely on their numbers will need more than just “being forced”. That would require pure determination. Veterans also said they spotted Chinese soldiers being frozen to death. Regardless I don’t think the Chinese can push the United Nation back from pure “being forced to fight” tactic.. I think it was their purpose to “defend” is what made the difference.. same with Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam.. these guys fight for a purpose which was to “defend” their home and I think that gives them an edge.. because they then do not care about anything else but to die defending their soil.

This was not a fair battle as the China lack of advance weapons but still the Chinese managed to force the US to stop the war.
The Chinese didn't have Thompson Machine guns or burp guns.

In the early days of the war they used a lot of weapons captured from the Nationalists who they had just defeated. Even American veterans remarked on the surprising amount of US weapons that the Chinese had.
They used everything they had captured from the "Nationalists" Guomandang/Kuomintang which the US had poured in for years..Small arms, trucks, jeeps, uniforms, helmets, even P47 Thunderbolts, and massive amounts of Japanese weapons left when the Japanese surrendered...Pretty amazing really but they had no choice..
