I love a red ipa. It's one of my favorites. My recipe is very similar but I add rye in the grain bill and use some chinook hops instead of cascade. Plus a hop is always a good thing

Oh! Lauren did really well! Good job!!! You could have used about half as much Carafa Special 1 and got a more reddish beer. It is easy to over do the SRM in red ales.

Any thoughts on what good dry hop in this would be?
Great to see that you know your history. But did you know that they over hopped it so that it would travel well and also made it very strong On arrival the full hopped and stronger version was given to the officers whilst the troops had it diluted. happy brewing.
just wondering do you use reverse osmoses water? or do you filter your water with a carbon filter?
