    "Timing the market and not investing" What a great concept, we fear investing because its "not the right time", but the stock market and interest rates are inherently unpredictable and chaotic, but its always the right time for compounding interest and holding long term ETF's, especially if you use a DRIP (divident reinvestment program) and dollar cost averaging (placing a consistent amount of money every week/month into the account).
    Thanks again for all your knowledge, I just discovered your channel and I'm learning so much!

    Just started my Roth IRA and didn’t know what to do so I just invested in index funds. I have 70% domestics and 30% foreign. Is this okay?

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 9 měsíci +2

      It’s all a personal choice and I cant say exactly for you. But I personally have about 85% domestic 15% foreign. I have index funds in my non taxable accounts and etfs in all my taxable accounts.

    Roth vs non, if taxed the same, ends the same. Starting with less (pretaxed) is the same as paying more in taxes at the end but starting with more because initial investment wasnt siphoned by taxes. Do the math for any example. 10k taxed at 25% initially turns your investment into 7500. Getting taxed at the end technically is paying more in taxes, but since you started with full 10k, you have more money to pay the taxes with directly proportional to how much more you started with initially, 25%. It really ends up exactly the same. Right? Correct if wrong, please and ty.

      Deciding on Roth vs non, from my understanding depends on when you believe you'll be in a higher tax bracket, now, or later.

      Hey Jake, instead of thinking of just taxes that have to be paid now or later, you have to remember the benefits of investing your cash in the IRA and letting it compound over time. Please check out my entire Traditional vs Roth IRA video that I made in detail for a much better understanding on this, I believe it will truly benefit you. Great topic you have brought up here, Thank you!

    did u hear what this man just said people its not really about have tons of money its about time in the market long term growth is always going to beat the amount of money u have with in the market simple hear is why if u keep putting money into the accounts u invest in each week or month what every u do u are going to epically win long term specially if u are in mutual funds like S&P 500 or ETFs.or some single stocks that u know can bring u that wealth long term and have. outstanding track record of growth.i go by this motto slow and steady wins the race u dont get rich over knight in the investments u make in the market .u get rich over the years and years and decades of being in the market.

    Is there anyway to accommodate for inflation? Because it seems like $10 today isn't the same $10 five yrs later.😢

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 9 měsíci +1

      For sure, that is why investing is so important. Letting cash sit does nothing and let’s inflation eat away. Stocks, bonds, real estate, money market funds, crypto, many many ways!

    I guess this whole video is specific for the US, not global. Specially to taxes, so for me I don't know for what use I might win from this. But thnx.

      I believe Tax Considerations was the only part that was U.S. specific. Thanks for your feedback.
