I don't know why people didn't get the concept of this film. Practically implemented, when you achieve a little goal, you tend to go for the larger one and in between you may face problems, you can overcome them, by compassion for the goal. Or while doin anything some wrong happens, you don't really know if it's wrong or blessing in disguise. Whatever happens happens for good.

I honestly thought it would be more humanoid like. Little arms and legs. A rock caterpillar that reminded me of the Pokémon wasn't expected.

The pebble is the symbol of our hard efforts. These problems are the same in everyone's life. This teaches me that keep a big smile on your face and keep struggling , one day the goal will achieve you like the tree in the last scene. 😊
I swear these CGI videos have more creativity, thought behind them and wonderful art than 98% of full length motion pictures!

The animation is practically photorealistic! (Except for the face of the rocky boi, and even then...) Great work!
May I correct you. The backgrounds and environment are photorealistic but the animation itself is not photorealistic.
@@whatidoinmyfreetime2289 lol neither, the backgrounds are all real. Just like the minuscule animations. Just the pebble/caterpillar was animated.
It's all animated, and yes,the background is very realistic, love tha shadow effect over the grass at the beginning.
@@helentee9863 pretty sure the pebble and caterpillars are just added to a video of an actual forest, otherwise the levels of quality would be lower and the pebble would actually affect the environment. or at least parts of it are anyway, theres other parts that clearly are animated

I really loved this short I loved how smooth and real it felt I love it and just that pebble caterpillar is cute.

Tiny rock worm tries a high branch, falls off. Climbes onto the even higher branch, gets "knocked" off. Tries a tree gets blasted off by lightning. Glad it was okay after falling off each time.

The amount of photorealistic detail in this short is astounding! Simply astounding! Huge, huge credit to the team who did this. This is top, top level CGI animation. I would watch a full length feature of this. Seriously. Every blade of grass, every sparkle of sunlight, the nearly invisible hairs along the stems of the plants, the veins in the leaves, the whole thing is just mind blowing! Great sound design as well. The faint clicking/scraping as Pebble moves along. The whispery rustle of the wind. The tiny fluttering of the bird's wings as it scooped Pebble up. The difference you can hear between when Pebble was creeping up the smooth plant as opposed to the rough tree bark. Even the crack of the lightning and rolling boom of thunder, followed by the hushed patter as the rain falls. My gosh what a stunning little film!!

Because it IS real. The background/trees all of it is real. Only the pebble is animated. Watch the Minuscule animations, they do the same thing.
@@Nikki_the_G l have watched all the miniscule animation, and they are great the way they animate cartoon insects onto live action film.
That's how l know this was completely animated, the tonal quality of the background is almost totally different to that of miniscule,though at at times it's close enough to mistake for live film.
The colour saturation diffrence between foreground/background here is much less ,and the individual tonal differences aren't as great as they would be in real film.
I've been spending a lot of my free time over the last few years learning how to judge/create tonal differences whilst studying drawing/Watercolour painting .
I agree. It was so real it brought back memories of my childhood when we would spend all day playing outside.

Maybe the point is to not try and be something that your not or life becomes difficult. Rocks and caterpillars are different for a reason. But the Rocks efforts brought the tree to its knees.

I SHIT MYSELF WHEN THAT LIGHTING STRUCK. MY VOLUME WAS ALL THE WAY UP.
The story is a little unclear and lacks direction but the effort and intention is there. I guess the moral of the story is: when you are different and feel like an underdog (in this case a pebble-pillar), don't try too hard to fit in, just be yourself and life will work out better for you without too much effort :)
