AMAZFIT BIP S vs AMAZFIT GTS
One great thing about the Bip S is that during the Workout modes the transflective screen allows it to keep the screen on for the entire duration of a workout, so you can view all the info such as heart rate in real time. No backlight required, and hence it’s great for outdoor cycling and running. The other watches switch off the screen or go back to the home screen.

Thanks for the review. My wife wants a smartwatch and I think the Amazfit GTS would be a good one for her,especially since one can buy it with a gold colored case.

I lost the original Bip. I bought the GTS to replace it. In workout mode, the dark orange/red font on a black background is too hard to read. Especially in sunlight. Any way to change the font color? It may be a dealbreaker. Bip has a light font with a black background. Much easier to read.

You can install the app "My WatchFace" ti enable selecting your 5 favorite faces out of hundreds of colorful, detailed, stylish & different content varieties - very recommended!

Is the Amazfit GTS reliable for general notifications?
You need a third-party app call notify and fitness. By default notification do not show emojis o big amounts of text, with Notify and fitness you can fix the amount of text that can be displayed on the notification.
I have been using the Gts about 5 months and it's pretty good, battery lasts about 12 days on average.
So the Bip S doesn't have altimeter/barometer like the original Bip then? So it cannot measure elevation gain?
No mention to it on their website (The original bip does have that claim on their website). That’s probably how they got the 5 ATM rating compared to the IP 68 of the original bip.
From what I found on Reddit:
A direct comparison is IPx8 can be submerged in 1.5m of water, 5ATM can be submerged in 50m of water.
Considering my bip has just died because of water damage most likely, an unfortunate loss but maybe it was necessary
