Kyrie Irving 'promotes' himself to a management role for Nets next season | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

  • Despite a disappointing end to a rocky season, Kyrie Irving says he's sticking with the Brooklyn Nets... but not just as a player. During a presser after the Nets were soundly swept out of playoff contention, Kyrie divulged that he sees himself more in a managerial role next season, and alongside Kevin Durant and actual manager Sean Marks, he intends to manage the franchise. Nick Wright tells Chris Broussard and Kevin Durant why the idea of Kyrie managing the team is ridiculous, and not what he wants to hear from the star after the Nets went 0-4.

Both have more values in their expiring contract than their personalities or even skills. Both can only stay in the current team if their more prominent teammates allow them to. And finally, both could be in the NBA wilderness in less than 2 years if they're not careful. If they’re both off, jrue is more impactful cause he plays great D, but it seems like everyone forgot that in the nets bucks series last year, KD and role players nearly beat the bucks with one of the largest contributing factors being jrue not being able to hit anything and still taking horrible heat check shots. Kyrie isn’t really that inconsistent, I’ve been saying it for a bit, this was a horrible matchup for the nets, Tatum figured out KD last year and was shitting on him, and if the DPOY didn’t have to split time trying to guard harden and Kyrie and instead could just zero in on Kyrie, he could give him trouble. Kyrie may take bad shots, but it’s bad shots like curry takes bad shots, they’re bad for most people, not bad for them. What’s a bad shot for jrue is a good shot for Kyrie. Kyrie is a very skilled basketball player, but he's a certified nutjob. It's the flat earth thing, the anti-vax thing, moon landing and whatnot. I bet he's one of those people who extract energy from rocks and always check the position of Mars before stepping outside. Labor is not his forte (only two seasons with 60+ games), his teams rarely succeed, but he somehow thinks he's the ultimate basketball weapon. He could be. He could have been.

Remember KD and Kyrie wanted Deandre Jordan and then Blake Griffin and Lemarcus Aldrich. They have the same GM skill of Lebron. Get All Stars out of their prime and expect it to work.

    • @soulslayer434

@King Woochi Well before this year he got players in their prime like Love/AD. Getting Carmelo and Russ and Rondo and Dwight as ur Main Squad when they are all mid 30's prob not a great idea.
