- [HD 1080p] From the 2014 Broadway revival of "Les Miserables": Ramin Karimloo as Jean Valjean, Keala Settle as Madame Thenardier, Cliff Saunders as Thenardier.
The fact that this revival is like the ONE production of Les Miz that doesn’t have a cast album is a shame. It might be my favorite cast.

If you like speak-singing. Valjean is terrible. Sing the notes as written, dude. They were written as written for a reason. If you don’t like the way they were written, go write your own song.

@@scotthamilton007 I’d love to see you try to do it. Ramin is incredible. Does he sing everything as written? No but that’s just how he is as a performer. The casting team knew that going in yet they still cast him. Why? Because he’s an amazing Valjean.

@@my2randomcents that's not entirely true. you have to have some form of vocal skill. this was not his first big vocal show. I was just saying he hasn't had formal training and sounds amazing.

The fact that Ramin seems to look right to the camera for as long as he does several times is so thrilling and I feel guilty (knowing how much he disapproves bootlegs) and delighted at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing!

I happened to see him as Val Jean the one and only time I’ve seen Les Mis in the West End. I was absolutely spellbound and I’ve been obsessed with him ever since. I do love him as Enjolras too. Those pure high notes get me every time

What a powerhouse of vocals on display here - if he’d been born 25 years earlier he’d have been the god of the mega musical. Thank you as always Spiderwoman!!!

I was ONE DAY OFF with seeing Ramin. Don't get me wrong, the understudy was AMAZING, but I was so excited to see Ramin. I still had an amazing experience being front row center seat. I bawled
I have seen this musical more then 25 times, mostly in London but also in NYC and Israel, where I live. For me, he is by far the best Valjean I have ever seen.
So that's where we've seen Keala Settle before she was in The Greatest Showman

oh man . . . . at first i thought this was footage from the west end and i got so so excited that you might have footage of hadley fraser in the show, too. :( :(
Sadly, the only video clip of Ramin and Hadley together as Valjean and Javert that exists on the internet is a short clip of The First Attack, around 1 minute and 22 seconds, shot from quite far away (no zoom-ins) and in small picture quality (360p).
I got to see them in Broadway way back 2014 and they were all great and amazing

He's playing Phantom again in Italy in October and in Monte Carlo in December for limited engagements. I saw him in concert in February, and he is so enormously talented, yet such a humble and kind man.

Was this all filmed over the same performance? I don't recall Valjean getting a different wig as the mayor, or maybe its because its so obviously different in these clips.
Yep, all from the same performance--a preview, I believe.
Maybe because Ramin is "a bit too young" to age him more through different wigs?

Ugh. Really don't like this version of Master of the House. Too histrionic and screeching, the melody amd harmonies get lost, along with the subtlety that actually makes it funny. Bring back Alan Armstrong.

I agree it's so over the top, and his straight tones sound off-pitch to me. I've tried to like him, but I just can't. I saw the original production like 15 times, saw many Valjeans, Ramin isn't in my top ten.
