Debatable aspect of thesis statement made it easy for me to understand the crux of thesis statement.
It is a really helpful video. Thank you so much 💖
Now you said that we have to make as short as we can, but that doesn't work with me. For example, my thesis statement is about using the first language in teaching the second language in EFL classroom.
My thesis is that the usage of the first language doesn't hinder the process of learning a second language. Whatever, my thesis statement is: Using the first language in teaching a second language in the EFL classroom is prohibited because some proponents of the English only policy think that using the first language in the classroom burdens the process of learning. However, some researchers show that the first language can play an essential role in teaching a second language and have a positive effect on the classroom atmosphere.
I don't feel that I do it in the right way?! And is it possible to make it as that long or I have to make it shorter?
It isn’t wrong to have a long thesis statement, but it isn’t harder for a reader to follow the longer the statement gets. Think of the thesis as a summary of your main point. You’ll have time to explain it in greater detail. If you can put it simply--do that. If you can say it in fewer words-do that. It’s about clarity and efficiency.
