Damn, OP in the last story should file for divorce, and name her MIL as the co-respondent.

"You were put here to be her caretaker!" What? Op there first...I don't think family should be caretakers, ever

  • @ABtheButterfly

by not getting the sister a PROFESSIONAL caretaker is greatly harmful to her if she got the help she needed her meltdowns wouldn't be so severe having their oldest take care of her is parentification. years of resentment could have been avoided if the parents weren't so selfish
all the blame is on the parents and it sounds like the sister needs medication and I'm not sure if she got it because the parents refused to get professional help

OP shouldn't be angry at his/her sister. It's the parents' fault. I have a special needs child and, while I obviously need help and she does absorb a lot of time and energy, I make sure my other kids get time and attention, as well as time for themselves. Also, 100% NTA.

OP has every right to feel how they do towards their sister.

@@ricksanchez7540 it's not the sister's fault. Her needs are being neglected just as much as OP's.

@rebekahjimenez2808 OP is a child and feelings are not always rational. Understanding that the parents are the true problem is something that will take time.

@@fibanocci314 I fully agree with that. However, understanding things like that takes someone pointing it out. That's all I was doing. It's sad that both of these children are being so neglected by these sorry "parents."

Like for example in the second story when you're listing the things the cousins took from Zoe's room nearly all of them were mispronounced. And that's just one example.
